A well-named rock formation in Arches National Park, Utah.

Though many see the face of a man in the moon, I've always thought the face resembled a baby's. I used features of my great nephew's face to enhance this impression on my photo of an almost-full moon.

Once a recognized symbol of the state of New Hampshire, this outcropping on Cannon Mountain in the White Mountains collapsed in 2003.

While walking my dogs last week I passed a small creek that looked as if it were looking back at me and smiling- may need a haircut, but looks happy!

Australian aboriginal legend of the Glasshouse Mountains states that Tibrogargan was the father of all the tribes and Beerwah was his wife, and they had many children, Coonowrin, being the eldest. One day when Tibrogargan was gazing out to sea, he perceived a great rising of the waters. He knew then that there was to be a very great flood.

Tibrogargan became worried for Beerwah, who had borne him many children and was again pregnant and would not be able to reach the safety of the mountains in the west without assistance. So he called to his eldest son, Coonowrin, and told him of the flood which was coming and said, "Take your mother, Beerwah, to the safety of the mountains while I gather your brothers and sisters who are at play and I will bring them along."

When Tibrogargan looked back to see how Coonowrin was tending to his mother he was dismayed to see him running off alone. Now this was a spiritless thing for Coonowrin to do, and as he had shown himself to be a coward he was to be despised. Tibrogargan became very angry and he picked up his nulla nulla and chased Coonowrin and cracked him over the head with a mighty blow with such force that it dislocated Coonowrin's neck, and he has never been able to straighten it since.

Use some imagination: This was taken on the day that Gov. Sarah Palin was campaigning in Johnstown- to the left protruding from the trees is the head of an Eagle. At the point of its beak is the head and fangs of a snake. Look closer and you can see the body of the snake wind through the sky.

Do you see the mask over his eyes and nose? See the eye looking through the mask? Left over junk in an old Gold mine in Georgia. I believe it used to hold the power hanging from the ceiling of the gold mine. Age, corrosion, and rust have turned it into this.

This sandstone consists of quartz grains loosely held together by iron oxides. Sometimes iron concentrations are found in the form of elliptical or round lumps around the remains of ancient plants.

Aztec lily, one of the bulbs we have to dig. This one is planted in the spring, sends up a flower within a week or so, blooms for awhile, dies, then the leaves emerge and stay all summer. They add texture to the ornamental sweet potato we plant them with.

This tree consisted of red and green leaves which closely resembles human lips...

The cross at the top, the angel on the bottom of this photo. Look close to see her face and body, with her arms down by her side, her wings are up.

That is a part of an icicle and I can easy recognise a face in it!

Natural ice sculpture, found in an orange grove after a big freeze in Redlands Calif. about a year ago. It was like a winter wonder land in that orange grove. I think this particular formation was formed when one of the grove's pipes had burst and the water froze as it hit the air. It's too bad that this picture is a portrait orientation as I know it doesn't qualify for this weeks challenge.

Looks like a large rabbit that runs off the hills

This sundial in Nuremberg, Bavaria, Germany, shows a very happy face, like a clown playing in a circus. I took this photo because I liked the unique, funny look of this sundial!!!!

This beautiful shot was taken at the Great Falls on the Passaic River in Paterson. The way the light is hitting the water it looks either like a white angel or a girl praying. very inspirational with the rainbow going across it as well, right?

Also at the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, a very old grave from the 1700s had little visible writing on it anymore. the aging of the stone had created many colors, and if you look at the stone on the right hand side, you can see the profile of a woman - she has the puffy white wig of the 1700s, you can see her face and even her facial features. Awesome effect.

This photo was an accident. I let the dog out and saw the wonderful sunrise clouds. Since I was in my night clothes, I just stuck my hand out with the camera and snapped the picture. Surprise !! there was a giant trying to eat the sky.

This altered tree stump stands in an atrium in my dentist's office.

The big eyes, droopy mustache and open mouth in the spoon handle seem to be complaining about the person eating.

Not the nature but human hands created this wonderful figure of " the good giant", made by different kinds of coloured flowers in the magnificent garden-park at Mainau, an island located in the Lake of Constance in Germany. The park is beautifully framed by calm waters and is an explosion of colours (especially in spring and summer; this photo was taken in April, 2008) and perfumes attracting visitors from all over the world.

This mountain range in Iceland near Ondverdarnes is called by the locals "The sleeping woman"; if you look at it carefully from left to right, you can easily recognize the profile of woman lieing on the back and crossing her own legs. The face is on the left, then come the breast, the belly and finally the crossed legs.

Two synchronized swimmers practise their routine. Photo was taken in August of 06 on the southern coast of Ellesmere Island at Grise Fiord, Nunavut.

This little critter is really a true omnivore. She will eat anything she can and gum anything she can't for a good five minuter or so trying to eat it. She is a fly's worst nightmare.

This close up of the trunk and pattern is my personal favorite. Look closely - there's an old man's face in there.

This was also taken at the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. This Rhinelander Mausoleum has a bronze door, and the aging has made the turquoise aging imprint - but the imprint oddly looks like a man with a helmet on and a staff in his hand. [next photo in this album is closeup of this imprint, then the next is full view of the Mausoleum FYI].

I caught the Sea gull on the left using his foot to push the others wing out of the way to get at food. I was shooting with a 70-300mm lens to get then in close. It was fun trying to follow them with this lens. I used a little vignette to make them pop against the white clouds behind them.

In the lower part of the trunk, I see a face. The upper part shows an arm with a hand reaching out. Instead of the hand, I could imagine someone making a headstand. But the very first thing I saw, was a dancing figure, with the thinner branch being the leg, ready to swing around. (4871-736k 785m)

This image was in the marble in the shower at my hotel. It sure made it hard to get rid of the feeling I was being watched.

On Galveston Island in Texas, the Houston branch of The American Institute of Architects (AIA) hosts an annual sandcastle competition of Architects, Engineers, and Construction teams. Nearly 80 teams show up to build a sandcastle using only water and native sand in 5 hours time. This was my company's 2007 creation that won an Honorable Mention. The tallest "tree trunk" stands about 7' off of the ground. We try again in late May, 2008!

It's the shower in room 221 at the Comfort Suites at SH 249 and Louetta. A little freaky when you are taking a shower, as if you are being watched!

One Skinny Flower...... that's for sure. But her name eludes me...
