the best trees are those with the antique and delicate looking ornaments, as least for me they are the best. taken at the Rockaway mall in a Christmas specialty shop last week, Nov 17th, 2011.

In April 2009 we visited Boyds Bear outside of Gettysburg PA. It was a huge barn full of stuffed animals and many sections decorated for Christmas. This tree was my favorite surrounded by jungle animals and penquins. Loved this place. Unfortunately this particular Boyds closed early in 2011.

In 1805, Cherokee Chief James Vann opened his new brick mansion to the Moravian missionaries to hold one of the first Christmas celebrations in the Cherokee Nation. Later, the home would be taken from him when the Cherokee were relocated to Oklahoma in what is know as the Trail of Tears. Naturally, no lights were used on the tree. Only candle light in the room was used for the photo. Canon DSLR on a tripod, Manual mode, F8, ISO 400, and a 6 second exposure.

Unfortunately we couldn't keep the beams exposed as they were just too badly damaged by woodworm. just waiting for new windowswhich are in production at the moment and then I can finish the stonework and flooring.

This amazing house in Little Falls, NJ we call the Santa House. The owner has the garage set up with displays of trains and animated characters and sits in a chair dressed as Victorian Santa. this photo is the front of the house, showing their Christmas tree in the glass solarium, which also has a train that runs around the top of the glass.

2010 Christmas Tree-Awaiting the arrival in the morning for brunch with our our 3 children and their spouses, 9 grandchildren and those with spouses and 6 great grandchildren. Many of the ornaments were made by our children many years ago.

She was actually reaching out to touch a small artificial Christmas tree whe her picture was taken. The bulb is on the tree in my other entry. The bird chicks in the nest are actuallu bluebird chicks taken in my backyard bluebird house.

I really like the earthy warm glow of this close up in contrast to the cool blue and green of the ribbon and tree.

I used the tungsten light adjustment on the camera to try to get accurate colors on the tree...and though we have no snow yet in the Carolinas, I love how I achieved such a contrasting cool blue color outside the window.

A lot of work went into making this holiday display in the main conservatory at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA. Note the gingerbread men Christmas trees in the front. This image placed 3rd in the Christmas Tree Creative Challenge.

at the campus of Rhema in Broken Arrow, is 12 million lights a bit too much, NEVER!

One of the downtown old rolled window displays made with old bubble glass, first this held jewelry for about 80 years and now as a business office has a Christmas tree on display. For Oklahoma this is old, you have to remember the state is just barely over a hundred years old now.

It's actually a grouping of five trees together covered with over 50,000 llights. It even looks better seen in person. It's located next to English Bay Beach. Close to Downtown.

This is what normally would be the dancing fountain in Lost Lagoon. Now for the Hollidays it's a Christmas Tree.
