A perfect warm and sunny October day, a meadow with fall asters--the butterflies and myself were delighted.

Bees rush to gather pollen from my poppies, which have just opened on the very last morning of summer and will bloom through part of October. In full size, you can see the scattered pollen on the petals.

This picture shows the actual lamplight out on our street. It made me think that the rose was trying to kiss the light.

(Not an entry) Not sure what makes a fall flower?? I shot this down in Corpus Christi this past mid October -- so since they are blooming, I guess these are Fall flowers.

This bush has the most colorful roses I've ever seen, and even though we haven't cut it back, even today it is still blooming, and its Novemeber!

My area stays warm even through January, we might have ice on the ground on Monday, and Tuesday we're out in shorts. My garden loves it!

CASSIA DIDYMOBOTRYA: Fast growing, gorgeous foliage, luscious black buds & showy bright yellow flowers make this native legume of east Africa a valuable garden accent. To 8’ tall, multi-branching with beautiful tropical looking, bright green, pinnate foliage, this unusual Cassia blooms Spring through Fall but most heavily in Summer & Fall. The showy 2” flowers are densely held on branching spikes up to 1’ long & emerge from rich, shiny black buds. Foliage has a rich buttered popcorn scent!

I have never seen a Mum this color before and I swear when I planted it it was yellow, maybe the soil composition or something has changed it, it is also absolutely huge, about 4 feet wide and 3 feet tall!! I have had it 4 years now and it never disappoints

For the weekend warrior--I am proud to say I am a breast cancer survivor! Hope you like this shot. I really wanted to use a flamingo--they are pink, they are nature and they do have a round section,--however---the ones I have are plastic, wood or somekind of composite stuff. So, I had to settle on these mums from my garden!

To see the ice, best viewed full size. My days of many, many tea roses are long gone (thanks to the deer and cane borers) ... but I can still grow a mean shrub rose. At a certain point in the blossoms' evolution, they do look awfully pretty. One morning a few weeks ago while walking the dogs in the garden, I realized that everything was covered in frost. Ran inside, grabbed the new camera, crossed my fingers that I'd be able to work the new settings property and voila! A frozen rose!!! I hope you enjoy!!

I can't name this fall golden gem, but I stumbled across it near a stream and was amazed at it's intricate beauty.

The end of the summer growing season brings its own beauty, as "feathers" replace the once vibrant petals of a clematis blossom.

Burning Embers Hydrangeas are a beautiful shade of rosey-red all through summer, then turn an even deeper and richer colour as the days cool down.

A compact abundant New England fall aster variety that is a true showstopper in curb appeal in SW Ontario, Canada! Grown in full sun to about 2' in height with petite dark blue green foliage in the Hardiness Zones 3 to 8.

Hummingbirds and butterflies love this plant as a food source as well as ants. Sun to partial shade with dark blue green foliage. Grows well in moist or average soil. Grown in Zone 3 [-40 F] to Zone 8 [10F]. A lovely fall flower in SW Ontario, Canada.

A lovely floriferous fall variety aster. Most likely the most popular variety of aster and makes excellent cutflowers. Grown in full sun to about 2' in height with petite dark blue green foliage in the Hardiness Zones 3 to 8. A true showstopper at our home in SW Ontario, Canada!

This is the lovely, multilayered flower of the passion fruit

This flower blooms in fall in Baja, Mexico. You can make Agua de Jamaica from the dried flowers. It is a refreshing drink of Mexico.

The flower looks like Hibiscus, but I don't think it is related.

The hills of Baja, Mexico are full of yellow blooms in the fall from the Palo de Arco tree. We're lucky enough to have some volunteer trees in our yard.

A bunch of red mums at the park. Well, people here agree that this is a late fall this year ,as the leaves aren't all yellow yet and the temp. is about 16 C.

Yesterday I went looking for fall flowers and found those wonderful flames.

In Israel fall looks a bit different. Right now the roses begin to bloom.

To the begin of the rain season - which is now - the aloes begin to bloom . In the sunlight they look like flames.

Strelitzia reginae's peak flowering is from late Fall to early Spring!

Strelitzia reginae, also know as Bird of Paradise, is the official flower of the City of Los Angeles. It is a monocotyledonous flowering plant indigenous to South Africa, widely spread in Southern California.

These beautiful flowers consist of three brilliant orange sepals and three purplish-blue petals. This is a detail of a petal with a sepal on the background.

There were a cluster of these yellow beauties growing near an old fallen down stone fence.

My favorite of all fall flowers. I just loved the light fell on the tops of these right outside my house.
