This was something I had not seen before. It has the appearance of snow, but it is not - it is Hoar Frost. Basically, it is frozen fog is how it was explained to me. Just in the trees, not on the ground.

A "V" of snow geese fly across the deep blue sky on a frosty morning in Lancaster County, PA. It struck me how the coloration of the snow geese matched the frosty tree perfectly.

Frost Flower at Montauk State Park.
They form when the water in the stem freezes. The stem burst open and the water leaks out and freezes into thin ribbons. You have to find them before the sun does because they melt really fast once the sun hits them.
