Reindeer delivering Christmas Cake...
published by: ttalbum
Christmas dinner in Ireland isn't complete without roast turkey ! I am a foodie. I love cooking food and I also love eating it. Last Christmas I was in Mendoza and had fish as my Christmas meal (there was a choice of fish or guess what... steak, surprise, surprise...), after 4 weeks in Argentina I couldn't’t look at beef... I have been in Asia for the past 6 months and there is no turkey here either! So I am really looking forward to a lovely Christmas dinner of roast turkey with roast potatoes, brussel sprouts, stuffing, cranberry sauce and some gravy this year (my trip is gonna end very soon)! I am not mad about Christmas pudding or Christmas cake! I just wish there was a roast turkey at the back of the Santa sleigh! Unfortunately, roast turkey isn't as photogenic as Christmas Cake so this photo will have to represent one of my Christmas thoughts...

Twinkly Stars, Roppongi, Tokyo
published by: ttalbum
When I think Christmas holidays, I think of twinkly stars. Twinkly stars in the night sky, twinkly stars on the snow on a frosty day or at night, twinkly stars on Christmas illuminations and lights on the streets, twinkly stars on a Christmas tree, twinkly stars my festive shimmery lipstick and my glittery eye shadows, twinkly stars in a glass of champagne, and of course, where there is champagne, there are twinkly stars in the eyes later... Therefore, for me, Christmas holidays are fireworks of many many twinkly stars!

So This Is Christmas...
published by: summerjade
and what have you done,
another year over,
a new one just begun.
And so this is Christmas,
I hope you have fun,
the near and the dear ones,
the old and the young.
A very Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year,
let's hope it's a good one
without any fear...

I'll Have a Blue Christmas without You
published by: summerjade
I'll be so blue thinking about you.
Decorations of red
On a green Christmas tree
Won't be the same
If you're not here with me.
I'll have a blue Christmas, that's certain,
And when that blue heartache starts hurting,
You'll be doing all right
With your Christmas of white,
But I'll have a blue, blue Christmas
...
Remembering Elvis Presley.

If only in my dreams...

This is an art deco style Chanukia that was also used for the design of ceremonial objects. One of this chanukia set, you can find at the Jewish Museum of Belgoum at BRUSSELS. ( Musee Juif de Belgique) This chanukia was bought by me few years ago in Salzburg Austria.Chanoka candels could be made in any colour. Only SHABAT candels that we light at Friday eve are white. Upon the Jewish tradition, the Chanoka candels are only "to be seen and not for use as light".

I remember seeing Laura Bush in a TV special, standing in front of the White House Gingerbread House, complete with the Presidential dogs romping in the front yard. The President's Marine Band performs in the White House
published by: doctorart
Each of the last three years I have felt goosebumps as I stood in the White House at the time of the Presidential Christmas Party, and enjoyed listening to the Marine Band playing Christmas and Seasonal music. Wonderful, indeed. Super place, superb "Christmas Red uniforms," spectacular food, good fellowship, decorations beyond those I had ever seen, the Nation's Christmas tree, and, of course the Commander in Chief and his lovely bride! It all shouted "Holiday Spirit" and lasted for months, just in time to do it again!

The "Roses in Spheres" Mantle in the White House
published by: doctorart
With lights sparkling in the State Dining Room, music, fellowship, food and all, the mantles each had unusual, stunning decorations. This one, with hundreds of fresh cut roses shaped as spheres, reminded me of Christmas and the season loved by folks of all ages. This was MY first selection for a photo representing the joys of the holiday season. It still sends chills up and down my spine!

At Christmas, we celebrate the birth and life of Jesus Christ. One way that we keep the true meaning of Christmas in mind is by collecting and displaying nativity sets (creches). We have over 100 sets from around the world, most hand-carved, hand-sculpted, and hand-painted. This photo is from one of our most beautiful sets, hand-carved of wood from Ecuador. Snow makes Christmas special!--This is happening right now on December 17, 2007. I am standing on my porch taking a few shots. The roof of my well house looks so funny here. It reminds me in this photo of some wintry church towers and comic strips I have seen somewhere!! (p4242)

decorated for the holidays - Entry #3
published by: marionw104102
I just loved this decorated house. To this day, I don't know, how all the lights were put on, high up, in the trees behind the house. Because of these lights in the trees, I entered this one.(p1703)

Santa Meets Santa

My friend's son having his first encounter with the big man in red. This turned out much better than I expected considering the angle I was at and the distance away from them. Quality could be better, but as it was a spur of the moment shot, I'm satisfied.

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph - Nativity from Germany
published by: phillipgarding
For our family, the most important thing about Christmas is celebrating the birth and life of Jesus Christ. We display our collection of 100+ nativity sets (creches) in our home during December. This photo is of the first nativity we bought. It is by the German carver Lotte Seiver Hahn. See my album for others in the collection.
