The "gauzy" look is actually a very heavy downpour. I was just about to step into the tub when I glanced out the bathroom window and spotted this doe across the river. I threw on a housecoat (mainly to protect the camera) and gumboots in order to get right out there - despite a thunderstorm overhead. I live dangerously. Thank goodness I don't have close neighbors. Looking down from the border to Lebanon. These rocks are part of the Mediterranean cost. Fishermen stand on the rocks, sometimes the water get up to their knees, sometimes the power of the waves sweeps them off their feet – what are you ready to risk just to get the best fish!

Looking south from the Lebanese border. On clear days you can see Akko and even Haifa far away at the horizon. The view point and the border is at a quite high place. From there you have a wonderful view on northern Israel. Down on the rocks along the coast we saw fishermen. I tried to get them closer with my zoom. The result of the zoom you can see on the next picture.

A great summer day to ride the current down the river in a canoe or take a swim.

how she ended up on the waterfall (unlike her usual predicaments)...That stupid rabbit pushed her in the pond...Fortunately she was rescued by Big Guy, the good, but not too bright, king turtle of the pond...Instead of taking her to the edge...He puts her on the waterfall!!! AAAHHH!!! Having been around the pond before...Penelope knew the evil Queen Janet would be lurking nearby...Maybe...if the pond lettuce gets close enough...jump...float...escape? Or sink into the clutches of the fish floating below her...

I caught this wave at just the right time. If you look close, you can see a footprint in the center of the shot.

If you look at it in full view, you can see the shadows of the ripples that the light posts cast on the sand.

This is my grandson Alex at age 2 1/2. We were telling him to say "cheese", and everytime he did that, he would clap his water filled hands and the tub water would spray all over the place! So here he is, saying "cheese", with his eyes closed. He looks rather glee-ful! And yes, I was getting all wet in the process. I told him that Nana had already had her shower for the day, but that didn't matter, he just kept clapping his hands and spraying water. You can see little droplets of water on his hands, on the tiled wall, and on the side of the tub. Also, the bath water is in motion.

After several attempts to get a good picture of the water skiers I finally figured a way to capture this act. I focused on an area that I thought they would be skiing in. I then waited for them to get near the spot and then I snapped the picture. Finally, one turned out!

This is water in motion, as my Deacon husband baptizes our grandson, Paul.

I took this shot from the bridge that spans the gorge. The Great Falls of the Passaic River in Paterson are the second-highest large-volume falls on the East Coast of the United States. They are 77 ft (23 m) high

The unique history of the falls and the city were described in the five-volume philosophical poem Paterson by William Carlos Williams. Among the episodes described in Williams' poem is the 1827 leap over the falls by Sam Patch, who later became the first known person to survive a trip over Niagara Falls.

On June 6, 1976, President Ford designated the Falls and its surrounding area as a National Natural Landmark.

The blues are real, I use a circular polarizing filter to bring out the clouds and up the blue content, this is also giving a bounce back from the sky, the sun is almost to the horizon out of shot on the left, the sun is lower than the cloud bank on the right which is reflecting back into the sea, please note that this was not achievable in one exposure, I have combined three exposures, rocks, sea, sky to get the right combination.

The surreal effect is coming from a long exposure which makes the water feel like dry ice floating over the rock, I love the way the bank of clouds is creating a light pool in the water.

Rhine falls is Europe's largest waterfall.Its total width is 150 m and height about 23 m

These falls are at GraceLord Park in Boonton NJ. This is on the Rockaway River. I love the contrast of the peaceful, smooth as glass water in the pool and then the sudden drop of crashing, cascading water, and the foam and rapids at the bottom. This was taken in March 2008

Raindrops keep falling on the falls: That's water in motion in multiple.

Tasmania Australia is one of the most beatiful places I have visited. The landscape veries from glacier parks to remarkable rock formation. In one hour you can go from clear sky to falling snow. On your way you can encounter veriety of wildlife from close range. Please visit my Tasmania albums. Your remarks are very welcome. In the picture above you can see one of the meny rock formation that is called: "Tesman Blowhole". The waves rush trough the hole in the rock and create a "Geyser" effect.

Laguna Canaima is a beautiful lagoon with pink sand beach and 7 waterfalls falling into it. The lagoon is surrounded by ancient "table mountains" that add mystery to it's beauty.

January 2005 while on expedition in Antarctica with "Quark Expeditions" we were exploring the wildlife in a small Zodiac boat, when suddenly, just in front of us a whale presented us with one of natures most stunning moments.

the Great Falls of the Passaic River at Paterson are unknown to alot of folks - which is hard to believe. they are simply breathtaking. they are strangely enough found in the middle of the city of Paterson. The Great Falls of the Passaic River is a prominent waterfall, 77 ft (23 m) high, on the Passaic River in the city of Paterson in Passaic County in north New Jersey in the USA - one of my favorite places to visit and take photos!

In 1912, Simon Benson, lumberman, commissioned 20 drinking fountains. The bubblers offer visitors something cold on the streets to quench their thirst. It was claimed that after the fountains were installed, saloon sales decreased 40%. By 1917, there were 40 fountains. There are now 52 four-bowl bubblers. With a total 128 drinking fountains throughout Portland include 76 single-bowl variations of the four-bowl Benson Bubblers.

This is one of many mountain brooks in beautiful Vermont. On this day, after a heavy rainfall, it was most impressive to walk alongside Hancock Brook. Here and there are little waterfalls in between and the waters coming down the hill were just rushing and swirling.

I sat down by this creek for lunch and decided to take a picture of the small fish that on the bottom of the picture. I like how the crystal clear water is transparent on the bottom but the light is distorted on top. I hope you all enjoyed it and good luck to all the other posters.

The Devil's Throat fall is the largest in the Iguazu Park. Formed by a semicircle of 200m in diameter & 80m high, water flows at a rate of 13,6 to 2,3 million liters per second, depending on the season.

The falls are a very popular swimming area for local youths. Do NOT enter the water if you have any open cuts or sores. Leptospirosis bacteria is in the water and it can potentially make you extremely sick or even kill you. Personally, I do not recommend swimming or wading in the fresh water streams and ponds of O'ahu regardless of how inviting it appears to be.

Just north of Foster Garden and located between North Kuakini and School Streets, is Lili`uokalani Botanical Garden. Portions of this 7½ acre garden were once the property and favorite picnic grounds of Queen Lili`uokalani, the last reigning monarch of Hawai`i.

I started out the afternoon by shooting at Banzai Pipeline and then Sunset Beach without much success due to the poor surf conditions. Nobody was in the chaotic water surfing. I figured at Shark's Cove I could, at least, get some good wave action on the rocks. The surf is still in the fifteen to twenty foot range here. On occasion, the blasts were rocketing about thirty to forty feet in the air.

A romantic and beautiful location in north Devon, along the river inland from the seaside at Lynmouth.

The beautiful and huge Emperor Fountain at Chatsworth. It is the highest gravity fed fountain in the world. Built 1844 by the 6th Duke of Devonshire to celebrate the impending visit of Tsar Nicholas I of Russia. Guess what? He cancelled his visit! Often rainbows can be seen in the spray from the fountain :-) (August 2007)

A beautiful scene on the Allt Mor Trail that descends from the Cairn Gorm car park, 2150ft up the slopes of Cairn Gorm Mountain, to the shores of Loch Morlich in the Cairngorm National Park.

This is a picture of the leadpipe from a windmill, with water spilling out into the mossy tank.

This rippling water is in the stingray pool at the Mystic Aquarium in Mystic CT. On the right you can see the "tail end" of the stingray that made this beautiful water effect. This pool has many stingrays swimming around and visitors can lean down and pet them, as they are very friendly and come by to "say hello". They are fast - I only got the water ripples and his tail in this shot but I love the look of it. Still one of my favorite shots - hope you enjoy it too. This was taken in Sept 2006.

The Skógafoss is one of the biggest and most beautiful waterfalls of the country with a width of 25 meters and a drop of 60 meters. The waterfall Skógafoss is situated in the south of Iceland at the cliffs of the former coastline. After the coastline had receded into the sea (it is now at a distance of about 5 km from Skógar), the cliffs stayed behind parallel to the coast over hundreds of kilometers, creating together with some mountains a clear border between the Lowlands and the Highlands of Iceland. This interesting effect of water in motion was shot while my fish tank had the bubbles moving at full speed. When I took the shot I had no idea what the results would be, but I found it quite intriguing to see how it came out in the end...

A small portion of the rapids on the Essequibo River at the Kurupukari Crossing. The water is generally a reddish brown, lighter at this part of the river than near the mouth.

My nephew sure enjoyed going down this water slide.

The Provo river in high form rapidly moves it's course. The sound of it is amazing, as it reminds me of the ocean waves sound crashing to the shore.

This is actually a quite large waterfall, the photo is taken from the side, focusing on the tiny drops all waterfalls are made of.

Some god lost his bag of stardust right into this brook. You can see the stars in the waterfall.

The park was closed for months due to a four person drowning in this pool. The park was reopened in March 4, 2007 after being made safer by reducing the depth of the main pool from 9 ft. to 2 ft.

I created these ripples with the rudder of my paddle boat, lining it up to ripple toward the center cloud! It took about 8 attempts, adjusting the rudder slightly in my attempts to get the ripples as perfectly horizontal as possible. I am easily entertained! The Chena River is a clear water river running from the hills east of Fairbanks Alaska and emptying into the Tanana River near UAF. The upper river is formed by several smaller rivers (forks) and the lower river is slower and deeper moving. The river is about 60 miles long and is surrounded by the Chena River State Recreation Area in the upper half of the river basin. A flood control project protects the lower section of the river from flooding the city of Fairbanks. This was built by the Army Corp of Engineers after Fairbanks experienced a devastating flood in 1967. The Chena River was a major factor in the founding of Fairbanks. E.T. Barnette founded a trading post on the lower river when he learned miners had discovered gold in the nearby streams, and because the riverboat captain refused to take him any farther up the Tanana River. The trading post became known as Fairbanks, in honour of the senator from Indiana. Charles Fairbanks later became a Vice President of the United States. The Chena is used recreationally for fishing and boating. The river is also travelled by snowmachines and mushers (dog sleds) during the winter months.

The torrential current of the river is quite a sight to see as it passes under the Old Bridge of Carr and the newer concrete road bridge.

The herons got there first this morning. Often it is the pelicans or the commorants. The birds are very busy first thing in the morning, but by about 0900, they settle down for a mid-morning snooze - little heads get tucked under the wing and they are outta here!

This elephant ear in my front garden has a diameter of twelve inches on either side and when it rains the drops seem to trickle down the entire shaft in perfect symmetry.

Plazas in Italy frequently have fountains with drinking water. This little boy played with the fountain in Piazza Santa Margherita (Venice) for several minutes. Just as he made up his mind to go for it ... my camera got lucky!

Blue water

As day breaks and sunlight paints it's canvas of sea and sky, the rocks seem to ebb as the clouds flow by in the rhythm of the sea.

I love this for a few reasons- first, you have the waves crashing up on shore, plus a few others right by the ship, but you also see how the constant movement of water against the ship has worn it down to a fraction of its original size. The power of water!

In June 2005 while traveling to Silverton, Colorado, we passed several flooded V-shaped creek beds with such rushing water and such high overspray that rainbows formed above them.

In March, 2008, in Branson, Missouri, this usually lazy creek flowing through a picnic area became a roaring torrent as it neared flood stage. This was the beginning of the state of Missouri's floods for 2008.

This momma duck shepherded her young ducklings through the waves and ripples on Lake of the Ozarks in June of 2008 leaving a respectable wake behind.

The Bellagio Fountain Las Vegas is one of the popular free attractions in Las Vegas. It is a distinguishing attraction of the Bellagio Hotel, which was inspired by the Bellagio Resort in Lake Como Italy. The Bellagio Fountain is located within the lake. Bellagio Fountains Water & Light show at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. This show occurs Monday to Friday from 3-8 pm every half hour and on weekends 12 - 8pm every half hour. Daily you can catch a show from 8-midnight every 15 minutes. This was shot at night.

This is where we stayed when we were on vacation in Orlando Florida in 2005.

When I took this photo and saw the few droplets of muddy water on the lotus leave, it reminded me of the scarcity of water that is facing the whole world. Many people do not realize it but we are running out of clean water in many part of the world today.

All this rushing water is even more spectacular in the winter.

I came home from work one evening recently to find hubby watering the lawn. It had been a hot sunny day. He had a glass of wine waiting for me. I just couldn't resist getting this shot...
