Dear Webshot friend and visitor! It was a big surprise for me to see my photo POTD awarded for two reasons: first, because most of the award-winning photos are often beautiful landscapes of Mother Nature and not an 'abstract artistic expression' and second because it is for me the first time, since becoming a member of Webshot, in achieving this high honour. After seeing the awarded pic many wondered: what is this? However, say what really is, doesn't mean to enjoy the artistic expression indeed but, in order to satisfy the understandable curiosity of the visitors I would say that the picture was taken in a sculptures exhibition in honor of Don Quixote, here in my city of Alcala de Henares. Of course the picture doesn't show the total statue; it is only a very small part of it with a dramatic contrast of colours as background. I have two albums under the title 'Art photos' In them I want to share with you my personal experience that Art can be seen anywhere if we have enough capability to combine our emotions with what we see. A specific thing that caused to me a concrete and deep emotion: that's the only "rule" I followed; or in other words, a simple submission of Pablo Picasso statement: "Art is not the application of a canon of beauty but what the instinct and the brain can conceive beyond any canon.
