We are starting at Seven Springs Arizona to Camp Creek via the Great Western Trail. The yellow on the map is the AZ part of the Great Western Trail. The trail will connect Mexico with Canada through Arizona, Utah, Idaho and Montana.

After doing a few days of research on this crash I decided to see if I could locate it. This B-25 went down in Mill Canyon in the San Gabriel Mountains on 7/22/60 while fighting a fire. The crew of three didn't survive the crash.

I have past by this crash site many times while doing hikes in the area. This time plan to spend the day checking it out. I hiked to the crash site from the Fish Creek Trailhead.

This plane crashed in Death Valley on 12/23/95. The flight started at Nervino, California and was destined for Lake Havasu City, Arizona. The pilot planed to stop at Furnace Creek to drop off a Xmas tree, he never made it crashing into the mountains.

It took three tries, but I finally found the P-38L that crashed on the west slope of Mount Yale on 9/20/44 while on a test flight from the Lockheed plant at Burbank, California killing the Lockheed Aircraft test pilot Roy Cameron.

On 4/6/51 this Howard DGA-15-P #NC67765 crashed on Mount McDill's south slope in the Sierra Pelona Mountains near Palmdale, Ca. Four people died in this weather related accident.

On 3/13/74 Sierra Pacific Airlines Flight 802 crashed into the White Mountains at 6,100' level just minutes after taking off from the Bishop Airport. All 32 passengers and the 4 flight crew members were killed in this accident.

This C-46 Commando #41-12363 crashed on 6/5/44 on a north facing slope near Pleasant View Ridge. A C-119 Flying Boxcar #53-3195 crashed 600 feet above on the same slope on 9/30/66.

On 3/2/49 two USMC Grumman F6F-5 Hellcats crashed into the south slope of Mount Baldy at the 9,400' and 9,100' levels in snowstorm. Both pilots were killed in this formation accident.

This Curtiss C-46A #41-5190 crashed on 10/5/45 hitting the peak of West Baldy. Some of the wreckage is located on the south slope of the mountain, but most is scattered down the steep north slope. Weather was a factor in this accident.
