Departure; Bromoil Effect
published by: mazaquilt
Bromoil is a photographic process from the 1920-30s used to emulate oil paintings. A conventional black and white image was produced on bromide paper. The print was then bleached/tanned, fixed and washed. While the gelatin layer was still damp, lithographic inks where stippled into the paper to bring back the image.

This beautiful bronze statue of a prairie pioneer woman by George Lundeen stands in front of an art gallery in Lincoln Nebraska. It was suggested by a webshots friend that I enter this photo in this creative challenge as well. original photo was in color, applied sepia instead. I used soften to blur the background of the cars and city, to enhance the feel of being OUT of the city and in the prairie, and to put the focus on the pioneer woman. Last I applied vignette dark brown frame around the edges.

Sunset in my backyard - HDR with 3 images - Next 3 images were used with Photomatix
published by: police370
I have shot a lot of sunsets from my back porch, but this is my favorite. The original photos used were nothing to write home about. Just a sun going down. HDR is not normally used for a sunset. So, I decide to try HDR for a sunset to see the results. Normally you see the sunset with silhouettes for everything else. By shooting an overexposure and an under exposure, you can get details you would never see and an unusual effect. I would have never expected the results. Especially when you see the original three images used. I have a few more HDR sunsets in this album.

Lomography- digitally created - Read below - Original photo used is next
published by: police370
Lomo cameras are well known for their unique photos, usually with vignettes, contrasty and highly saturated colors. It gives the photo a distinctive look, which could be achieved with those type of cameras. Digitally created using cross processing or mismatching film and chemicals process to get color change and Vignette to get darkening and blur around photo caused by fixed cheap lens. I did clone out people that were a distraction. Sometimes I look at this and think it looks like a model car, but it is a full size car. Later in the album is the one with the people around it.

Behind the green door
published by: dickbendele
Midnight
one more night without sleepin' -
Watchin'
till the morning comes creepin'.
Green door
what's that secret you're keepin'?
There's an old piano and they play it hot behind the green door
Don't know what they're doin'
But they laugh a lot behind the green door.
Wish they'd let me in
So I could find out what's behind the green door.
Knocked once
tried to tell 'em I'd been there
Door slammed
hospitality's thin there.
Wonder just what's goin' on in there.
Saw an eyeball peepin' through a smokey cloud
Behind the green door
When I said
Joe sent me
Someone laughed out loud behind the green door.
AII I want to do is join the happy crowd behind the green door.
Midnight
one more night without sleepin' - . . .
Saw an eyeball peepin' through a smokey cloud . . .
Wish they'd let me in
So I could find out what's behind the green door.

Model A sepia
published by: bfluegie
The original full color version of this photo is in my Misc album. An antique car club had a dinner in my neighborhood. This was right out in front of my house. I converted to sepia, added a little grain, and the white frame to try to make it look like an old photo.

Saint Catherine Chapel - Lomo
published by: bfluegie
Saint Catherine of Siena Chapel in Allenspark, Colorado, also known as Chapel on the Rock. I used the Photoshop Elements 9 built in Lomo effect on this image. The colors are a little different, but I kind of like the drama in this image. The original photo is next.

Abstract reflection on old mill dam surface 1
published by: CatskillHiker
An in-camera alternative technique. Bending the reflections of trees and autumn foliage on the dappled water surface of an old mill dam. The dappled surface is caused by the rough bluestone dam surface, the stream current, wind, and falling leaves. A tilt shift lens was utilized to obtain a sharp focus over the entire water surface which was not parallel to the camera's sensor plane.

What is that on the horizon?
published by: marionw104102
The "Moon" or "Flying Saucer" on the horizon, was created in Adobe Photoshop Elements, by selecting the filter Render, clicking on Lighting Effects and making my own adjustments there to get the moon shape. To change into black and white was done by invert, different shades by changes in saturation and color variations. Sometimes I make changes playing with shadows and highlights which I also used in other shots of this album. (#3391-256k)
