Custom carved in basswood this lead horse is at Grand Carousel in Bucks County, Pa....at Giggleberry Fair.

Fanciest on the restored 1922 GrandCarousel-Giggleberry Fair, Peddler's Village, Pa.;the tail is real horsehair, and the trappings are inscribed with the mastercarver's initials.

Over 30 glass jewels adorn this beauty, made by Philadelphia Toboggan Co.(PTC),Germantown, Pa. in 1922. Of the 89 produced only 26 remain-- our PTC#59 is in New Hope, Pa.

This is the Ferris Wheel at the Cornyval. I noticed the lights of the Ferris Wheel as we were leaving at Sunset. The lights kept flickering and dancing and changing around. It took me forever to finally get a shot with all of the lights lit up at once.

This is one of the rides at the Cornyval. It twisted and turned and spinned and went up and down. NO WAY was I getting on it. The Cornyval is a small carnival they have every year in a small surburban town called HELOTES. I go for the roasted corn on the cob....boy was it ever sooooo DELICIOUS!

This is the Superman Roller Coaster at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. An Amusement park about 10 minutes from my house. My two sons, Taylor and Trevor love this ride, however you'll never get me to get on it...NO WAY! Have a Happy Fourth of July everyone in the US! Happy INDEPENDENCE Day!!!!!

Ferris Wheel

The park was constructed at the foot of the Sydney Harbour Bridge during 1935, and ran for nine-month seasons until 1972, when it was opened year-round. Luna Park was closed in mid-1979, immediately following the Ghost Train fire, which killed six children and one adult. Most of the park was demolished, and a new amusement park was constructed. The park was closed again in 1988 as an independent engineering inspection determined that several rides needed urgent repair. The owners failed to repair and reopen the park before a NSW government deadline, and ownership was passed to a new body. Reopening in 1995, Luna Park closed again after thirteen months because of the Big Dipper rollercoaster: noise pollution complaints from residents on the clifftop above the park caused the ride's operating hours to be heavily restricted, and the resultant drop in attendance made the park unprofitable. After another redevelopment, Luna Park reopened in 2004, and as of 2011 is still operating.

Based on the enormous smiling faces at Luna Park, Melbourne, Australia and Steeplechase Park in the United States, Luna Park's 9-metre-wide (30 ft) smiling face, as well as its flanking towers, have presided over the main entrance for almost all of the park's 70-year history. There have been eight distinct faces, installed in 1935, 1938, 1939, 1946, 1950, 1973, 1982, and 1994. The seventh Face was donated to the Powerhouse Museum in May 1994.[32] The eighth and current Face, completed in 1994 and carved from polyurethane, is based on Arthur Barton's 1950 "Old King Cole" version

Detail of Savage's gondola switchback ride. Gondola design was inspired by Venetian gondolas. Fredrick Savage designed a 3rd rail & levelling mechanism to steady the gondolas that had previously tended to come off the rails. This one built in the 1890's & believed to be the last one working of the many distributed around the world. Rebuilt in 1926 & restored again in 1979.

Originally powered by a small steam engine, this was eventually replaced by an electric motor. When this was done a 98 key Gavioli organ was fitted that used punched card music.

Delivered in 1896 & owned by same family untill 1983. Original artwork hunting scenes on head but horses have been replaced with fibreglass replicas. Originall powered by a small centre steam engine.

This historic carrousel was built in 1914 and spent 75 years at the Minnesota State Fair. Today it can be found at Como Park in St. Paul.

All the beautiful horses on this carrousel are made of wood and are hand painted.

The Barracuda is a fair ground ride. the cages, or 'cars' go round in opposite directions,pausing momentarily when they reach the top,with the riders upside down, and then plunging down and up the other side..... not for me I hasten to add!!

It's a long way up there! Starting to wonder if I really wanted to do this ride.

Insanity-The Ride consists of an arm that extends out 64 feet over the edge of the Tower and will spin passengers at up to three 'G's.' As the ride spins faster and faster, the riders are propelled up to an angle of 70 degrees. Riders will experience the thrill (?) of being flung over the edge of the Tower and literally facing downward at the City of Las Vegas below.

Texas Star is the tallest Ferris wheel in North America. It is located at Fair Park in Dallas, Texas, and operates during the annual State Fair of Texas where it is the most popular ride. The structure has an overall height of 212 feet (64.6 m) (approximately 21 stories) and can carry up to 264 passengers in its 44 gondolas

This was a little tricky to get from the side of the road with no tipod, manual mode at 1/10 second, and hand held as I watched the ever changing light show and sounds in front of me. Especially when everything was moving. I went by it a coule days earlier and thought the overall scene was neater than a close in shot of something inside. So I came back, for it and tired me forgot my tripod. Took a few tries to hold steady, Usually anything under 1/60 sec should not be hand held. I thought there was one more day to come back, but I was wrong.

Wild Hog ride, This is a kiddie ride of motorcycles on a track. I was in this fair at Tahlequah Ok before anyone else had come in taking pictures and stubble on to this ride that had the nicest reflections, this was all set to catch the five year old attention by putting all this chrome at eye level to them.
