April Showers aren't the Only thing that creates a Rainbow. On early Spring season days, before the trees bud, the higher atmosphere is still very cold and in cirrus clouds, ice crystals, refract the now warmer, stronger radiant sunrays, into a stunning Rainbow Halo!

I caught these beauties during a break in the rain.

Riding in the back seat for a couple of hours with a camera leads to the inevitable... photos from a moving car. Rain was falling off and on all day.

A storm is coming. We can see the dark cloud and the rain already falling in a distance. "He covers the heavens with clouds, he prepares rain for the earth, he makes grass grow upon the hills." Psalm 147:8 RSV

A little frog took refuge on the porch during the rain and for a while afterward.

I wanted a picture of the wet bark and the droplets on the branches. When I downloaded the photo, lo and behold, flowers were already showing.!!

A few minutes after this was taken a heavy hail storm hit the beach leaving evrything covered white. We'd escaped back to the car by then and weren't brave enough to endure the freezing winds again.

It was just starting to rain. Within minutes, there was a downpour.

Theme is April Showers, therefore I chose this shot as the result of an April shower. "New Beginning" is mentioned, that was the crocus. This one was the only one which looked a little bit pretty and caught my eye, most of them were in a terrible array, beaten flat to the ground. (15251-539k)

A winning shot in the Creative Challenge April Showers 2010. The dust has been washed away and we even have mud. I know this is not very special for most of you but when you are living through a drought and have severe water restrictions for so long .. rain is something precious! We still have water restrictions and we need more rain.

A country road in the North Georgia Mountains in the county I live. Rains have just started and the trees have caught the rain and kept the roads dry underneath. My kind of country road. Can you smell the fresh air?
