Fall colors abound along Kitchen Creek in Ricketts Glen State Park.

Located east of Forks, PA in Columbia County just down the road from the Twin Bridges.

Near the Rio Grande in New Mexico.

Miniature falls can rival any big one... at least in a special way in my mind.

I love to see the bright red of the jack in the pulpit seed head surrounded by the greens, browns, and yellows, as you walk through the woods in autumn.

I got late for the Trick or treat challenge, but well, they only featured spooky pics for winners anyway. My Jack-o'-Lantern is not spooky at all, I made it to show that they don't have to be spooky to be beautiful. So I carved the full, smiling Moon into it, and some shooting stars to complete it. Enjoy Halloween's other side! :-)

More beautiful golden yellow fall colours at Elk Island National Park, Alberta, Canada. I took this photo from the Astotin Lake.

We came to St. Albert for the outdoor farmers' market, reputed to be the largest outdoor one not only in Alberta but also in Western Canada. The farmers' market takes place on Saturday from June to early October. It was another beautiful fall day, and the Sturgeon river looked great with fall colours.

There are some small maple trees in downtown St. Albert. They add a touch of red during fall to the blue sky of St. Albert, Alberta, Canada.

Walking along the trail in late October with the sun near setting I came across this scene.

One more aspens-and-mountains shot. Coming back down, the light was still pretty low - but at least we didn't need flashlights any more..

No sign of the moose we hoped for, but the sky and grass were beautiful.

The reflections were gorgeous,but even using a tripod and cable release, I didn't get many useable shots. The valley was in deep shade while the trees were up in the sun. I "need" one of those $2,000.00 2.8 lens.

The warm golden light illuminated this spot for a magical few minutes and for a brief moment in time it all felt surreal.

…and nature dressed in her finest put on her glorious golden cape.

In 1780 George Washington had headquarters here at the house of Colonel Theunis Dey. Every October a re-enactment encampment and demonstrations are held here. I love the Dey Mansion with the orange leaves against and above the roof.

Not all autumn colors are vibrant and eye-catching; sometimes they are just . . . well . . . wispy!

My favorite effect is the Orton effect. The Orton Effect is named after Michael Orton who first used the technique. It is a sandwich of two images, one in focus the other out of focus. the result is to produce a beautiful, full of deep color impressionistic image. This was taken at the North Cove Park in my town Oct 23rd 2010

Peak-a-boo pumpkins: This pumpkin is famous to be used for carvings. It tastes unsignificant, but is eatable and know to help against problems with bladder and prostate and against fatigue. I love the color!!
