I was in Boonton NJ over the weekend and found this lovely old historic home with 2 bikes stacked on the porch. Could not resist taking a photo of it. Used HSL to make the unique purple coloration - my next entry is the original colors of the bike, house and porch.

Hiking in the Ramapo Mountain State Forest, part of Ringwood State Park is always fun, but you do have to be careful as many times bicycles will appear on the trail out of nowhere, and as you can see, these riders are going by pretty fast....

I have artificial legs, so this 3-wheeled "bike" is great for exploring dirt roads and forest paths. If a deeper forest beckonds, then I have the crutches along.

At the morning tea rest stop during the recent Cycle Queensland ride [500kms over 9 days], I spotted this youngster helping Dad to cycle the day's distance.

I found this delightful cane rendition of a bicycle outside a small giftware/furniture shop in New Zealand.

It never ceased to amaze me what the local community would do to celebrate the arrival of the Tour de France through their area of France. This delightful cycle sculpture was on the home stretch into Compiegne.

Actually I think it is wine holder. Got it at a thrift shop. Could also be a valentine in the snow. Maybe I'll try to find some colorful wine bottles to put into the slots. Actually I did, they are in the next shot in the album.

The Penny Farthing or Ordinary 1871 to 1891 The Ordinary or Penny Farthing as it better known reigned from the early 1870's and production lasted some 20 years. This was the art district, but one did not expect to come upon this artisticly bright mosaic bicycle on the the side of the sidewalk and at the cross corner of an intersection.

The day I visited Pic du Jer, the funicular to the top was free to bikers wearing their team colors. There were many bikers out that day despite the occasional rain.

This man converted some bikes and put them on pontoons. Russ and Pat paddled by and I found them really hard to get to know. But I was determined! I have used this foto before in a Challenge, but what a unique, safe form of transport.

Early in the morning, Pat and Russ have a quiet, calm, stressfree bike ride on the water. It was well worth the effort getting to know them.

Maria Island is a car free national park off the coast of Tasmania. No cars, but you can hire a bike which is transported on the ferry with you.

They had around 100 riders for the ride through the mountains of North Georgia with a total climb of 9,000 feet in the 100 miles. Gilmer County where I live is Also the Mountain Biking Capital of Georgia. I have seen Lance Armstrong ride through Ellijay. This is a big area for bicycle riding. I know I am really a tricycle. My longest journey has been from the china cabinet to the dining table - Alas - No neat bike trails for me. I only tote salt and pepper. But I am way over 50 years old with only one pedal missing. I am one of only three salt and pepper shakers my owner kept from her childhood collection. That makes me special!
