Not as bright as leaves, but beautiful in their neutral tones with the touch of green, stubbornly refusing to change. Of course, it has no choice but to age as nature demands.

In Queensland it is spring. In our sub-tropical climate we don’t have deciduous trees and there is very little colour change. Except the temperature becomes cooler and the lizards come out to sun themselves. I will show some autumn lizards.

Private Maple and Oak tree lined driveway. I'm excited about winning the challenge. I knew when I saw the driveway that sunny fall day that it would make a great subject. It was absolutely beautiful in person. This is my second POTD this year, so I am pretty excited. Thanks for all your comments.

Falling rain filled a tub of water, but it wasn't long before it was covered with falling leaves.

I still had hanging pots of blooming flowers that I hung on an old ladder in the front yard, because frost hadn't come yet.

Leaves fallen from this tree revealed a vine changing from its green color to a fall theme.

Looking straight up... while standing on the forest floor, I found an intersting angle for this photo.

What I especially like is the unexpected purple that just happened in the background which really looks stiking against the orange mums.

This lovely reflection allows you a different type of view in which you only see an image of the reality. Both the reality and the reflection were beautiful.

This was our fall scenery in Herndon, Virginia.

That year a giant sunflower grew in our back yard. We collected the seeds and fed them to the cardinals.

The impression is a pun also It's an impression of the events and an impressionist painting and the impression the man makes when he hits the ground . The man doesn't seem to be too unhappy about it in fact he seems to be enjoying the fall . Can you see the falling man smiling ? ;-)

I stopped at a local apple place and found some Indian corn talking to me.

These leaves blanketed a bench at the Chicago Botanic Garden. I've read in photography books that sometimes you have to help "arrange" nature. Not so on this day!

I'm still going through vacation photos, but couldn't resist entering just one. We visited Spearfish canyon on a damp and cloudy day. Lousy for pretty skies, but great for long exposures.

I know that a single leaf shot is one that gets entered a lot; but, I'm still going to enter it because it's beautiful.

God creates such beautiful scenery for us to enjoy.

Looks best at full size .This is a Salal leaf that has had a hard life it seems . All of the aging , weathering and other environmental challenges have rendered it with the most spectacular color and blemishes I've ever seen on a leaf . It's been cut and pasted on sky background .

I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TYPE OF LEAF THIS IS, NOR THE REASON IT IS THIS STRANGE TURQUOISE COLOR. IT WAS ALSO VERY BRITTLE

Many times I drive across this scenic river bridge, Today I walk and discover what I'd missed!

This was done with ACDSee photo manager, Especially it being Autumn but also very fitting after all the rain here in the UK this summer.

The early history is obscure although a church was mentioned in 1163. The present church was built in the 14th century, based on the earlier church and incorporating parts of it. It was damaged in the Civil War when it was used as a prison. By the 19th century it had deteriorated and George Gilbert Scott was brought in to direct its restoration in 1854 Clifton-Taylor complained about the way in which part of the church walls have subsequently been pointed. The first building on the site was a chapel in the parish of Acton. Around 1130 both Acton church and Northwich chapel came under control of the Cistercian abbey of Combermere. Building of the present church started around 1380 in the decorated style. Later additions were in the perpendicular style.
