In January 2011 we had some massive surf in West Hawaii. I got rather wet taking these shots, but it was so worth it! I sure had to clean my lens a lot that day, maybe a new worlds lens cleaning record.

Its fins were beating furiously. These small specks were bouncing off the crests of waves. Brown ##### were hurtling out of the sky and piercing the ocean's surface in hope of spearing a fish disturbed as the bow of the Norwegian Star cut through the placid Pacific Ocean.

This little squirrel's leg was going a mile a minute. LOL

Colours unaltered. One can actually see the water flowing from above. The short shutter speed froze the drops to look like icicles.

The Barracuda is a fair ground ride. the cages, or 'cars' go round in opposite directions,pausing momentarily when they reach the top,with the riders upside down, and then plunging down and up the other side..... not for me I hasten to add!!

The effort required for these horses to pull a cart round the cross country course of several miles while negotiating various obstacles is huge. The day before they have done Dressage in the ring & the following day have to do cone driving in the ring.

As I was photographing these two cute field mice eating at the bottom of the bird feeder, a Red Tailed Hawk dropped out of the sky, and in a blink of an eye, it grab a field mouse with its powerful sharp talons and flew away with the helpless mouse.

Minty and Pippa wrestle and tussle and have fun - and I have to drag him home on the lead. They are just delighful to watch in their play.

Minty always wants to help in the garden. The first couple of months that I had him, it took me hours to do the simplest of things. Minty not only dug up the horse manure, he also ate it! Dear little man!

Minty is having an extended puppy-hood and will do anything to get a game going. This is his standard first move - but not all dogs want to play.

I was so lucky to have caught this shot from nearly right underneath him. It startled me that he took flight (although I was hoping he would) but I turned quickly and shot...this is right from the camera and not cropped at all...YES, I CONSIDER MYSELF VERY LUCKY.

Here he is again.

Soyuz mission TMA-9 to the international space station, international crew including Mikhail Tyurin (Russia) Soyuz Commander and ISS flight Engineer, Michael Lopez-Alegria (USA) Flight Engineer and space station scientist, and spaceflight participant Anousheh Ansari (Iranian born, USA citizen). The photo shows the Russian Soyuz spacecraft and FG launch vehicle. This mission was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome which is located in and leased from Kazakhstan. The manned launches bring supplies and relief crew to the International Space Station. I was at Baikonur on business and was lucky enough to be able to see the launch.

I love this one because it actually does not really immediately look like fireworks. It reminds me of photos that Hubble Space Telescope has taken.

catching a moment of fireworks is like capturing a shot of paint spreading out in water. the design and pattern is so delicate and unpredictable.

another favorite, because of the shots of two more fireworks on their way up contrasting against the flower like patterns of the gold and white ones. and little white fishy tendrils as well.
