The marbles have a sad story. The oldest, most beautiful, and most chipped belonged to my great uncle Laverne. Almost 100 years ago, he graduated from high school, carefully packed them away and went off to fight in the first World War. Like so many other boys, he never returned.

This was taken at a restaurant in Orange NSW called 'The Rocking Horse'. I was having fun taking photos of the table while the guests were talking before lunch....and the food was out of this world delicious! Effect made with Photo-Brush 5...

This dinner was held at a restaurant in Borenore NSW, about 15 mins from Orange. It was an old school and church called "The Old Convent. The room was lit only by candlelight which made wonderful patterns on the walls and reflected also with the mirrorball on the ceiling...and the food here was also delicious!

I love glass, I love reflections and what you can see thru the glass that no one else see's. I love how the reflection looks different, in the glass the other way around! If I cant find a reflection, then I make some with different photo programs. This was taken at a restaurant in Orange NSW called 'The Rocking Horse'. It was an old corner shop and then s lolly shop for many years. We were seated on the old closed in verhanda.

This glass solar hummingbird outside my door in winter reminds me they will return and brighten up the gardens once again.

Up in Napa Valley the Far Niente Winery House has an Ivy covered wall with a solitary window.

The flame lights the Mosaic glass pieces in this candle holder.

This Brooch reflects its color sitting on top a glass shelf. Once called Rhinestone stone jewelery now we know that it is actually Peridot and Orange colored cut glass.

I just got my first macro lens and am trying to learn to use it. This is the interior of a flower vase.

Another try with the macro lens, this time a closeup of a paperweight. It's a lot harder to get things in focus with such a shallow depth of field. I'm hoping macro shots get easier with practice.

The strings of glass are created by collapsing the glass ball and then blowing it up again what sticks to the top and bottom becomes strings of glass in random shapes. I have an entire glass album. The ball is multicolored and I wanted to use that for the back ground and show the suspended glass inside.

These hornets found a place safe from the weather etc. It was interesting to watch them up close and somewhat safe.

This is an etched window in a door at a friends house. It has a lot of detail in it.

This back lit panel was in a room of Tiffany art. Glorious colors!

These are old shots but I did want to highlight the Chrysler Art Museum in Norfolk VA which has over 30,000 glass items!

Years ago I photographed this beautiful glass bowl on film...today it was time to recreate the same moment digitally.

In this photo, the glass is very simple...but the way that the light creates a unique 'shadow' through the cranberry juice makes something simple very spectacular

This dish belonged to my Grandmother. She passed away 50 years ago this fall (2012). She was 89 years old.
