This was take after the lights had been off for about an hour. We shined light from above so we could see the sweeper tenticals. During the day it's a whole other look! (see "Meat Coral"0

Eye on the finish line...and gold. Johnny Spillane of the USA had a several metre lead on the final turn going into the homestretch and can see gold at the finish line 200 metres ahead....

While touring the nature preserve on Sanibel Island Florida, I saw the stand - and decided to wait 5 or 10 minutes for the bird to return (I could hear the baby 20 feet over my head in the nest). When the mother bird came back (in this photo) - it turned 180 degrees and dropped its wings for a landing. (Don't forget to click on the ENLARGE button to REALLY SEE THIS PHOTO!!) The reason its in the contest ... I didn't have time to get the camera to my eye to take this shot so I took my chances while he quickly flew in. The reason its in the second contest (HUNT) is pretty much self-explanatory.
