Mt. Rundle photographed at dawn from Two Jack Lake, Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada. These Canadian Rockies are incredibly beautiful. The mountain lake at dawn was very quiet, the crystalline water was glassy smooth, and the air was crisp and clean. Grazing behind me were mountain goats and swimming in front of me were ducklings following mom. The natural pristine beauty of the location inspires thoughts of what could be in a "green" world!

An autumn sunset view of Carl Sandburg's estate, Connemara, in Flat Rock, NC. The site is now a national historic site and maintained by the National Park Service. Sandburg lived here from 1945 to 1957 when he died. This farm served as an inspirational location for many of his famous poems and books.

A photo of Jackson Square, New Orleans, taken approximately 10 months after Hurricane Katrina devastated the city. Saint Louis Cathedral is the central building, to the left is the Cabildo (signing of La. Purchase), to the right is the Presbytere. The statue is Andrew Jackson who came to save the city in the War of 1812. While the neighborhoods a few blocks away were still destroyed, this area had been restored. It gave me the faith that one of my favorite cities will return.

For me one of the most inspirational place was this row of columns in Turkey, Hieropolis. In the yellow light of the sunset, with the row of poplars behind... thought provoking and mystical.

Time ceased to exist when I was standing on the shore of this lake near where I live. It and everything else was so unmoving, unchanging and queerly quiet that I was transfixed.

The heavens appear to be ignited on fire... A brilliant sky overlooks the powerful ocean colliding with the earth. The stone walls were built with skills handed down by the ancient Hawai'ians from generation to generation. This inspiring natural cathedral is located in my own backyard. I come out here every night to reflect upon my life and to pray for my son's safety in Iraq. I have found God in this paradise... my Hawai'i. Ua mau ke ea o ka aina i ka pono.

Fountain sculpture group in front of the town hall of Muelheim an der Ruhr, Germany. I love it to sit on one of the nearby benches, watching the varying trick fountains.

It is always an inspiration for me to sit by the Ruhr river and to watch my beloved birds! The result is a whole album of this beautiful swan family and most of the pictures in the album 'feathered friends'!

Lift up thine eyes. . . for there is nothing more breathtaking and awe inspiring in all of North America than Alaska*s majestic Denali with its seven summits. Mt McKinley, another name for Denali, rises 20,320 feet (6,194 m) above sea level, and has 5 large glaciers flowing from it. Denali means *the high one* in the Athabaskan language, but the term Denali is also the name of the National Park in which Denali rises up. This photo was taken on an unusually clear winter day during a ride on the Aurora Train, a day trip running through the Alaskan wilderness between Fairbanks and Anchorage. Twilight Time: The skies and beaches of Israel at sunset time.

When the earthquake of 1755 devastated Lisbon and the surrounding region, the convent of the Pena fell in ruins. But the Chapel, with magnificent retable in marble and alabaster attributed to Nicolau Chanterene, remained unbroken. These ruins, on top of the steep mountains of Sintra, had astonished the young prince D. Fernando. In 1838, he decided to acquire the old convent, all of the surrounding fences, the nearby Castelo dos Mouros (Castle of Moors) and some other quintas (villas).

The Skógafoss is one of the biggest and most beautiful waterfalls of the country with a width of 25 meters and a drop of 60 meters. The waterfall Skógafoss is situated in the south of Iceland at the cliffs of the former coastline. After the coastline had receded into the sea (it is now at a distance of about 5 km from Skógar), the cliffs stayed behind parallel to the coast over hundreds of kilometers, creating together with some mountains a clear border between the Lowlands and the Highlands of Iceland. Laguna Colorada is part of Eduardo Avaroa National Park located high in the Andes, in the far southwestern reaches of Bolivia. The mountains of Eduardo Avaroa are the highest Andes Mountains on Bolivia's border with Chile and Argentina and they are packed with spectacular erupting volcanoes, hot springs and steaming geysers. Laguna Colorada is located at 4,278 meters, the reddish colour of its waters is caused by red sediments and pigmentation of some algae. Also, Laguna Colorada is the most important breeding site for the elusive Puna Flamingo and harbors large breeding colonies of Andean Flamingos. Together, these two species are the rarest and least known of the world's flamingos. An awe-inspiring train journey - the end of the trip, a railway line built thru the rainforest in the 1920's against the odds. And this is just such a delightful, take-you-back-in-time place - a beautiful old train, and the old station with its antique lights and old dining room.

A misty morning in December. Somebody has stolen the snow! But still this river, and the lonely road besides it, is a place for inspiration, that changes everytime the weather do. Take a look at the picture, and imagine you're there. What inspiration comes to your mind?

On quiet days it is always great to come to this little shore, and just sit there and think.

Part of earning his keep was to keep track of family members. Under the desk he had a great view of the passing parade. Trouble was, by evening, he was so exhausted and would try and marshal us to the bedroom @ 7p.m. so that he could sleep in peace!

My love for aeroplanes started when I was about four years old - I always knew that I would work with them - and no, I don't fly this thing, just posing.

It's not so much a place that inspires me. It is more my husband Earnest...He is my place. No one encourages me more than him to take photographs, nor is any one else as proud of the achievements I have made. Earnest also previews Penelope's escapades, probably laughing the loudest at Penelope problems. He is the one that drives me from place to place just to take pictures and the one that doesn't fuss too much when I want to buy a new camera...again...What better inspiration could one have than a partner in life? Maybe one that wasn't in the middle of the shot? lol

What an inspirational Place to visit!

Glendalough in Ireland is my most inspirational place. It is a place of great beauty, with the two lakes surrounded by green forests. It’s often shrouded in mist. There used to be boat trips across the lake to Diseart Caoimhin (the ancient church of St. Kevin) founded in the 6th century. There are a lot of archaeological remains from this time and succeeding centuries to be seen and explored. I think of it as a source point for Christianity in this area of Ireland. Like St. Kevin the beauty and serenity of the place draws me closer the the creator who made the visibile from the invisible (Heb 11:3).

I took this at around 5:30 AM just as the sun cleared the trees. The mist in the background is rising off the Annis River that borders my yard. I'm grateful every day that I live in such a magical spot as this. Best viewed fullsize.

Although not conventionally religious, I find inspiration through music; I believe it connects me with God and the universe. This church is located at the northeastern end of our region, between Weymouth and Belliveau's Cove in Nova Scotia. It's open for visitors all summer. The flag on the sign is the Acadian tricolor. St. Bernard's acoustics are second to none. Musique Royale - classical programs by visiting artists - is a regular feature offered here. I once performed as a contralto soloist, with a chorale doing Mozart's Alleluia. We sang from the balcony and the music drifted over the audience, lingering in the vaulted ceiling as we finished so we could hear our own voices trailing away. It was magical! I felt transported.

I would love to go back here in a heartbeat!

Ellenwood Park in Yarmouth County is a wonderful place to enjoy the outdoors. In summer, it's alive with children, campers, swimmers and visitors. In other seasons, it is a place of peace and an ideal spot to reflect and dream. Best viewed fullsize.

Getting up before dawn to watch the local Senegalese fishermen push off their colorful fishing boats into the Atlantic - what a sight!

Inspirational? It doesn't look it at first glance. This woman is walking through trash in a dump in Mexico, scavenging for plastic bottles to sell to a recycler. This is what she does for a living. But she was very friendly, as were all the people I met in this dump. I was inspired by the positive attitude of the people I met. We in the States have so much, yet complain much, yet these people who have little rejoice when the garbage truck arrives and dumps another load of "treasures" - and that's an inspiration to me.

Kyiv, the capital, is a lovely and modern city full of old churches and modern cafes. The large Dnipro River is visible behind the gold-covered church domes.

Just about anyone who was born in Maine and has moved away will tell you that there is something about their native state that they will never leave behind. I return to Maine often, and never cease to find inspiration there, particularly in the Autumn, when the colors are simply dazzling.

I don't have to travel far to find inspiration in nature. This scene was taken within a few steps of my back yard. When I first moved to my present home, this field was part of the city's carefully groomed golf course. When the course was reconstructed, this portion was eliminated. It has since reverted to its wild condition, and has become a glorious source of inspiration for me in all seasons. This scene was taken last month, the morning after an ice storm.

Taking a stroll on a cold sunny afternoon

Fighting water and ice, a never ending battle. It inspired me to press the shutter at precise this location, Marken peninsula, protecting the island and dykes against growing and moving ice.

Bled is famous for the glacial Lake Bled, which makes it a major tourist attraction. A small island in the middle of the lake is home to a church; visitors frequently ring its bell for good luck.

My inspiration for every task of my life comes from worship.

Sometime one needs to rise above the worries of the day to a quiet, scenic locaton. For me, Inspiration Point in the Berkeley hills is just this place.

The beach had always given me inspiration and a sense of peace. I think the beautiful sunsets may have something to do with it.

These beautiful blooms mean that Spring is really here. Time to take the camera and find more inspiration.

God's beauty--found just outside my back door.

No wonder it is in Provence where some of the greatest modern artists, such as Cézanne, Picasso, Renoir, Matisse, Chagall, Dufy, Cocteau and Van Gogh, were inspired to paint their masterpieces in a setting that is beyond description.

The small village of Taos in the New Mexico mountains, is one of these special locales where you'll feel creatively and spiritually inspired from the minute you arrive. The place has such a special aura - the breathtaking scenery in midst the 10000ft towering peaks, the soothing adobe architecture, the free spirit of the people and the stunning display ofcreativity of the many artists who have settled here over the years equally inspired...

This little known State Park in the midst of arrid and beautiful Eastern Oregon is a small piece of heaven, which inspires brave rock-climbers to scale the steep stone walled canyon, nature lovers to find solitude, painters mesmorized by the everchanging colours of the canyon and photographers trying to capture and preserve the awe inspiring views of this little piece of paradise....

So many times I am in my yard and I see the sun going down on another wonderful day and I am inspired to capture it. I caught this moment this past weekend and had to run upstairs for my camera before it was gone. My yard is a source of many inspirations to capture with my camera.

WHEN I WANT TO BE INSPIRED I LOOK TO THE BEAUTIFUL WORLD AROUND US.

I have always been drawn to and inspired by lights and lighthouses. I have planned vacations around visiting historic lights and photographing them. The history of lights and the amazing people who manned them - people who saved others lives and were on call 24 x 7, living sometimes all alone on an island or on a jetty or off on a rocky cliff, separated from the rest of civilization just to be available to help ships at sea make it safely into a harbor or around a hazardous area. The lights in my collage are - top left Goat Island/Newport Harbor Light; top right Beavertail Light, Jamestown RI. bottom left Barnegat Light, Long Beach Island New Jersey [my home state!!] and bottom right Castle Hill Light Newport RI. The one in the middle is also Castle Hill, this time from the bay.

I took this photo with a cheap digital camera. oh how I wish I had my good camera this day. It inspired me to go buy a good camera and take many more pictures.

What is more inspirational than the Monarchs of Pismo that have faith in one another to migrate each year to this beautiful site to annually perpetuate the specie

BETTER SEEN FULLSCREEN..The English Gardens in Assiniboine Park is a quiet inspirational place to just gather your thoughts after a hot summer's day. I like to just sit, and smell the sweet aroma of the many flowers as the occasional humming-bird comes zooming by.....

There's no other place in Ontario, Canada which inspires me more than Blue Lake Provincial Park. Its water is so clear you can see the bottom of the lake at a depth of six metres (20 feet). Surrounding the lake is a boreal forest, known for its natural beauty. I like to walk out to the fen and sit on the footbridge and just listen to the sounds of nature. Each morning you can count on the call of a loon in the distant waters.

The name says it all.

Many wedding shots are taken by this tree. In Spring and Summer this walled garden in a nearby park is a wonderful place to stroll, relax and smell the flowers.

I love to wander around these woods, especially in the autumn, to walk, to think and to get away from the race for a short while.

With all its wonderful flora, Kew Gardens is inspirational at any time of the year.

I find it inspirational to go to Piedras Blancas and sit by the hour watching these amazing creatures and waiting for the PERFECT shot

Kodachrome Basin is where the well known Kodachrome film was first tested, due to its vibrant colors, which are obviously very inspirational.

I do not have to go very far to get inspired. There is so much beauty in little things all around me. The light falling on these leaves, illuminating even the tiny hairs can put me in awe. How wonderful to be able to catch this precious moment with my camera! (p2770)

One of the places I find inspiring, is my garden. I hope this photo shows you why. When my tiger baby lilies bloom and it had rained, I can sit on my porch just looking at them, looking at them in awe. The raindrops shimmer like pearls. In some I discover little colorful reflections; I say to myself "like pearls from heaven", grab my camera and click, click away.

With the passing of Sir Edmond Hillary(An icon here in New Zealand) We look high to the Mountain that first inspired him to the top of the world. Sir Edmund was much more than an extraordinary world adventurer, He was a philanthropist who devoted his life to helping the people of Nepal through the Himalayan Trust. “I am a lucky man," he told an interviewer after the Everest climb. "I have had a dream and it has come true, and that is not a thing that happens often to men.”

Driving this route in the evening has a feeling like no other. Makes me know that New Zealand is Gods own country.

To see this, is inspiring! Mount Mansfield, Vermont's highest Peak, reflects in this beautiful springfed pond! On this late October day, the mountain was snow-covered after the first snowfall of the season. Hoping to see this, I went for a ride and discovered this new park with its many trails to choose from. It is a beautiful area for hiking, wildlife viewing... Plan on spending the day, find a beautiful spot, relax, enjoy and get inspired!

Nature always finds a way to recover from adversity.

My Christmas Cactus is such an amazing plant. It does well whether its pampered or not and always rewards me with bountiful, beautiful blooms. I have tried to capture the blooms many times before, but finally got down on my back underneath this blossom and took it looking up into the light. Inspirational is the word this blossom brings.

Ponta de São Lourenço is one of the last nearly untouched places in Europe. Located in the eastern part of the island, this is the place where a fantastic combination of rocks, sea and nature created one of Mother Nature’s masterpieces.

This picture may inspirer some and my not impress others. This picture is of my parents, which was taken in 2005. In 2007, they celebrated 68 years together!!!!!! My dad is 89 and my mom is 86. Still going everyday, loves their computer, camera and of course their family.

This photo was taken 20 years ago in a late summer morning. As a student, my friend and I hopped onto a bus during a weekend. We crossed the Austrian boarder and came to this hevanly-made place. Of all the lakes I have visited, this place made me realised, for the first time, the beauty of lake- mountain-sunlight. Despite visitos, its tranqility remains.

Watching sunset on a tiny tropical island, where you can have the whole beach to yourself, no other people wandering around aimlessly, no loud and messy bars, no fancy restaurants, no vendors trying to sell you things, etc. Fantastic place for some great contemplations and inspirations.

A walk in the woods on a warm fall day is breathtaking. There is inspiration in nature and a calming peace that comes from the breeze in the trees and the sounds around you.

My favorite place is an empty beach on the Jersey shore. It gives me inspiration, peace of mind, a place for contemplation. The force of the ocean is awe inspiring, the calm of the beach in contrast is magnificent. It is where I go in every season.

A curious legend supposed to explain the origin of this pilgrimage has given rise to controversies between critical and traditional schools, especially in recent times. According to the latter, Rocamadour is named after the founder of the ancient sanctuary, St. Amadour, identified with the Biblical Zacheus, the tax collector of Jericho mentioned in Luke 19:1-10 , and the husband of St. Veronica, who wiped Jesus' face on the way to Calvary.

This is a huge oak tree in front of our apartment, more than 100 years old ,and so it is protected by the municipality. It covers land as wide as a five storey apartment building in this crowded part of the city but fortunately,it is not allowed to cut it and the area around it is being used as car park.We enjoy its beautiful appearance in spring,in the fall and in winter. It looked so inspiring to me today with its bare arms trying to reach the blue sky...

Guardian of the northern tip of the Golden Gate, the Point Bonita Lighthouse still uses its original second-order Fresnel lens to cast forth a guiding beacon for mariners. In the 1850s, as lighthouses started popping up along the West Coast, mariners cried for a light to mark the entrance of the Golden Gate whose recalcitrant currents, dangerous shoals, and incessant clinging fog had strangled the journey of many a vessel.

These birds and outdoor critters is what keeps me going in life! I love watching them and photographing them from my window. I am handicapped from Post-Polio so can't get out much. They are amazing!

I had the privilege of living in the Grand Canyon for several years and it has always been able to inspire me to be a better person and to always see the wonder of life within my own life. It is a very spiritual and powerful place for me.

The Pacific Rim is where I go to recharge my spiritual batteries. Balancing stones is a very Zen experience -- relaxing and introspective.

This tree is in my front yard and was given to me by my daughter when she was in Kindergarten. It has become a symbol of inspiration and love over the years as I watch it grow and mature along side my daughter who has matured into a wonderful, loving and inspirational woman. It now stands over 20 feet high and is an amazing work of mother nature.

Reflections on Lake Thomas ~ Lake Thomas is a place that our family goes to every summer and it provides me with an amazing amount of photographic inspiration. Watching the Loon family glide across the lake in the early morning hours is amazing. It is a wonderful place to wake up to as I watch the sun rise up over the lake.

Scenes like this inspire me to seek and take better pictures.

This is the late Sam Fox who would sit and watch football games with me and come running every time he heard John Waynes voice of TV. I miss him very much.

. . . that I have known and loved. After completing this sunset collage I sat back and just stared at it for what seemed like an eternity. To have so much beauty on a single screen was so very awe inspiring. Each sunset represents a memorable location and a special place in time. And so many beautiful memories came swooping back all at once. Somehow all the effort and time expended in getting out and taking all these photos, seemed more worthwhile now than it had ever seemed before. The incredible beauty of the heavens was never more enchanting, was never more obvious, and was never more inspiring than it was in seeing all these sunset images together in one place. This will be one I have professionally printed to hang on our wall so that I can look at it several times a day and be reminded how this is what its all about!

It was so quite - then they flew and you could hear the wings beat in the water. It made a spray that looked like fog. It was an awesome sight. All in a backyard at Eagle Mountain Lake in Newark , Texas. Wow!

I sat for hours just watching The ducks and the water. Just enjoying Life and a little fishing.

I chose to take a picture of the back of the Statue of Liberty, because i feel that while this country provides freedom and opportunity for many, it does not do so for everyone, and some arrive here, but only see the "back side" of America, they are forced to lived in slums. However, many do break free to a better world.

I was not only inspired by the beauty of this place, but by the fact that I was able to meditate as I walked around the labyrinth. I reflected on peace in this world and prayed for a more peaceful society not so prone to violence.

The winter is one of the most inspring times of the year for me. It keeps me wanting to go out and breathe in the cold, fresh air and capture the beauty of the freshly fallen snow.

This is my baby...2nd of 2. Both of my boys inspire me to be a better mom and take more pictures too!

There is often beauty surrounding us from the ground up. This reminds me of the verse Hosea 6:3 "...he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth".

Nothing inspires me so much like a dance hall, where I feel the freedom of moving and energy of music. In such a place I feel I can never get tired.

I can spend hours in places like this one. Full of colors, beautiful things, jewels and fabrics bringing the spirit and scents of old, far cultures.

I like how trees defy the odds. Contrary to the law of gravity, they continue to grow ever updwards, and in so doing, over time they provide an ever-expanding shelter of shade for everyone walking beneath their boughs. Gravity is nothing.

I have discovered many life lessons in my garden. Here, about a month before the first snowfall, a gazania continues to bloom cheerfully und unafraid. The stake looks worn with time, begging the question: who is supporting whom?

This place screams .... VACATION

It has been said that God's love is as vast as the ocean. Somehow that seems to gain a whole new signficance when I walk along the ocean's shoreline and watch endless wave upon endless wave tirelessly - seemingly effortlessly - rolling in.

Garden of the Gods is one of my favorite inspirational spots in Colorado. Many are challenged to conquer the towering pinnacles such as these two climbers on the left. Bettin' the bird on the right had a much easier ascent!

This shot, taken at the 2007 Colorado Balloon Classic, is my own inspirational reminder to reach above and beyond that which limits us.

My husband and I had received some devastating news and were headed home over Independence Pass when we came across this rainbow. And we knew that when things look darkest, there would always be rainbows and beauty in our life.

We've just about arrived at the top of the Continental Divide in Rocky Mountain National Park by driving the one-way Old Fall River Road. It was such a delightful, fun drive and a feeling of sheer delight. P1000898

Malta has several glass producers. Among them Mtarfa glass. It can be found at the craft village of Ta Qali. The workshops are housed in disused aircraft hangars and former military premises. The glassblowers can be seen busy at work in their 'hut' which is fascinating and very inspiring.

This beach can only be reached by foot. After arrival, you are so warm, the cold water is a blessing for your feet. It is good these beaches do not have tropical temperatures: now there are very few people and everything stays naturally clean and beautiful.

The local dock here in Port Alexander can be a very inspirational spot indeed!

Pidgeon Point Lighthouse.The lighthouse has always been an inpiration for me. It's the light house that guide the ships safely to their harbor, and so in faith I know my God will guide me safely to stay on course in my life.

For me, it's a new day and that is very inspirational, I thank God for each morning and a new day a fresh start. This I shot right in front of my house, tha'ts why I love getting up early so I won't miss a beautiful sunrise like this.

It was America that was very inspirational for my Father, the desire to emigrate to the United States of America. I thank him for that, when I see the flag I think of him because he truly loved this country.

Each new sunrise inspires new hope.

Nature's beauty inspires me. This is a picture of Point Reyes Lighthouse perched above the vast Pacific Ocean.

Another one of nature's inspirations: a waterfall. Standing at the base of this 120 foot waterfall, one can only wonder in awe. Scenes like this inspire me to do more to protect our world for future generations so they too can witness such inspirations.

The credit for surpassing one million views belongs largely with the beautiful place that I have the fortune of living in. THE Southern Oregon Coast! Found in the backyard of a restaurant on the way to Cali, Colombia on the Pan-American Highway. Indians call the Ceiba pentandra the Tree of Life.

This house is just up the hill from a fruit stand high in the Andes near Medellin, Colombia. The air is crystal-clear and that lone cow is the king of the hill. I would love to live there with a view of the whold world!

Cathedral Rock in Sedona Arizona is filled with what they call Vorteses( vortex) a place of energy. You can feel the vibration when you get out of your car. We stayed for several hours just soaking up the energy. Enjoying the view and taking pictures!!!!!

We had crossed the Cauca River a short while back, on the way to Medellin, and were already almost a mile high in the Cordillera Central of Colombia. The breathtaking scenery of range upon range of the Andes transports you to a whole new level.

Yosemite National Park

The interior of the Basilica of the Holy Blood / Helig Bloed Basiliek. A rock crystal phial kept in this church is said to contain Christ's blood, washed from His body by Joseph of Arimathea. It was probably acquired by the Christians following the Sacking of Constantinople in 1204. When I visited here visitors (including myself) queued up to touch the phial of blood.

Above the crematorium where my mum's parents were cremated, it seems that a human soul is departing this world and entering the next. From heaven rain down the flowers of the earth.

This is one of our favorite places. We live about 85 miles west of crater lake. Our Grand kids love it and we bring them here every year. It is so beautiful and peaceful. One of God's wonderful creations.

This is how it looked like when I last saw the place - in the late afternoon of May 5th 2007. The corridor of rocks is set in a way that one gets to see elements of the place before the whole facade is unveiled.

My backyard holds lots of winged visitors and they inspire me to look on the brightest side of life, with their beautiful songs & colorful Plumage. This beauty is a Northern Cardinal, it is an immature male.

Clouds take so many different shapes and sizes. Depending on the time of day and other conditions they take on different colors also. Clouds make me feel bright & cheerful when they are big & billowy.

Samburu National Reserve lies 325 kilometers north of Nairobi in the hot and arid fringes of the arid northern region of Kenya. The Reserve is within the lands of the colorful Samburu people, close relatives of the Maasai, and harbors a number of wildlife species rarely found elsewhere in any numbers. These include Grevy zebra, the reticulated giraffe and the Beisa oryx all species found only north of the equator. The long-necked gerenuk is a graceful antelope, which spends much of its time in a bi-pedal stance seeking succulence among the withered scrub, which dots this harsh terrain. Other animals commonly seen are elephants, lions, cheetahs, gerenuks, buffalos, grants gazelles, dikdiks and waterbucks. There are over 350 varieties of birds. These include the famous Somali Ostriches (distinguished by their unique purple/blue legs during mating season), kingfishers, humming birds, eagles, guinea fowls and vultures.

Bowen Road was named after George Ferguson Bowen, the 9th Governor of Hong Kong, from 1883 to 1885. It was colloquially called "Third Road" by residence in Hong Kong for being the third east-west road from the shore at that time. "First Road" and "Second Road" were Queen's Road and Kennedy Road respectively. As Hong Kong lacked fresh water at that time, Tai Tam Reservoir was built in Tai Tam Valley. An aquaduct was built to transfer from Tai Tam to Central via Wong Nai Chung Gap and Happy Valley. Later Bowen Road was built on top of the aqueducts. The road makes the south boundary of Victoria City. Bowen Road is a superb rooftop level walk looking down on Hong Kong Island. As the path winds around you get superb views of the Happy Valley Racecourse and other HK landmarks. Various shrines are to be found along the path including Yan Yuen Suk (lit. 'the rock of love'), or Lovers Rock, a 9-metre high rock pointing into the sky from the top of the bluff. The rock is said to have the power of giving happy marriages for those who worshipped it. It is one of several focuses of Qi Xi (literally 'The Night of Sevens'), sometimes called Chinese Valentine's Day or Magpie Festival, which falls on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month on the Chinese calendar; thus its name. Young girls traditionally demonstrate their domestic arts, especially melon carving, on this day and make wishes for a good husband. It is also known by the following names: The Festival to Plead for Skills; The Seventh Sister's Birthday; and The Night of Skills. Seen en route from New Hampshire to Vermont. I was inspired enough to make the 3 hour trip twice. Haverhill MA to Burlington, Vermont along rt 89 was just so gorgeous in early summer, then again a few months later when the leaves were changing, I just had to go!

I have probably seen more sunsets here than in anyplace in the world, and they are always amazing, it is one of my favorite places on earth, to come and walk, read, draw, take pictures, talk to old sailors and fisherman, watch eagles, listen to the Lighthouse blow it's fog horn across on Vashon Island, those are the Olympic Mountains in the background, there is a marina here also. It is south of Seattle, about a mile from the SeaTac Airport. I lived here for 11 years and came to the pier everyday after work to walk and unwind, I moved because I got married and my husband owned a home North of Seattle and I miss it everyday. It is where part of me will be scattered someday

I love San Juan Island, I took this from the ferry going to the island, this one is coming from Sydney BC on Vancouver Island in Canada which is about across Haro Strait from San Juan Island and the Lime Kiln Lighthouse. (where part of me will be scattered)

Take a good look at this mansion. This unbelieveable artistic piece of architecture was almost torn down to make a parking lot and a mall in the 1960s. YES - true story!! The Elms is located at 367 Bellevue Avenue, Newport, Rhode Island. The Elms was completed in 1901 for the coal baron Edward Julius Berwind, and is a copy of the Château d'Asnières in Asnieres, France. The estate cost about $1.5 million dollars in 1901 to build. In 1961 when the last Berwind, Julia Berwind, passed away, the family auctioned off the contents of the estate and sold the property to a developer. In 1962, just weeks before its date with the wrecking ball, The Elms was purchased by the Preservation Society of Newport County. On June 19, 1996 it was designated a National Historic Landmark. I am inspired by this Preservation Society who has now raised money to purchase, maintain and preserve for all of us 11 historic properties. Explore 250 years of American history at their 11 historic properties, located on 80 acres of gardens and parks, one of America's premier collections of historic house museums. Their work has inspired me to become a member myself and I am inspired to continue the work.

These two deer were trying to find their way back home. They had to come out of their wooded shelter to find food because it had rainned for three solid weeks non stop. The mama deer was very protective of her fawn who was a nervous wreck with all of the cars zooming by. I followed them till they reached the railroad tracks where they were able to get back to the wooded area off of the busy city road. What inspires me about this photo is several things. I love nature and animals. These deer are the essence of innocense and the way the mother always protects her young is very inspiring...It reminds me how precious life is and to keep my wits about me when I just want to scream at my kids for stupid things they do. I see how loving these animals are and it reminds me to try to be the same with my children.

The rain finally stopped and the sun has popped out for the first time in days. It was towards the end of the day and the bright setting sun shone down on to this palm and a tiny golden spider. The suns ray made the rain drops, palm leaves and spider shine. This is inspirational to me for it is what life is all about. We need the sun and the rain for without it we humans, plants, insects and all other life would not survive.

We went to South Padre Island for Spring break. The first four days it rainned off and on, but wouldn't you know it, the morning of our last day there the sun finaly came out, but only during the sunrise, then it went right back to rainning. This is very inspirational to me. The sun coming out means one more beautiful day I have on our Mother Earth. The birds soar high above so freely and carefree, though, yet another THunderstorm is brewing about, the suns rays shine up to the heavens from the ocean just for a moment, which gave me peace of mind knowing that the rest of the day would be rainning once again,

My passion is the sea (Black sea). Near the sea I always feel happy and romantically. There I met my love - my present husband.

From the great number of towns and resorts beside Black sea I prefer Balchik and more exactly The Palace of Romanian queen.There I always feel an inspiration to be a better person.This is one of my favorites places.

The beauty of the fall colors and the tranquility of the lake make me feel at ease. I could sit there all day.

Nothing makes me feel more relaxed or more inspired than wading in the water. I love the peacefulness and sounds as I'm walking down the river.

How can you not be inspired as you are sitting there with a good cup of coffee and a great friend and you look up and see this written on the wall?

First of all, I adore fall. It's such an inspiring time of year in itself. This spot seemed like a perfect place to hide away and read for a bit.

A walk shared with good company or on my own with a camera is always inspirational especialy on the beach with the birds, sun, rain or wind, it doesn't matter. The sound of the waves are always soothing. Walking barefoot on the sand all of my senses are alive, sight, sound, smell,touch and even taste with the salt in the air. I love the simplicity, lines and texture in this shot. (My girlfriend is on the right wondering why I am lagging behind again)

Murray River, South Australia. Morning mist is clearing. Water is life. We are now in a severe drought and this river is a lot lower. This is a favourite holiday spot for us. Away from people, phones, shops, traffic, everything except nature. Time to admire the scenery, wildlife and birds, unwind, recharge ones batteries, and be inpired.

Our favourite holiday destination is sailing on the River Murray in South Australia, our most precious resource. We are still in a serious drought praying for rain. This image was taken very early on a cold misty morning as the sun briefly paints the cliff in a stunning warm golden light to take your breath away. I wish you could hear the birds, the only noise to break the silence and stillness. There are many more pelicans out of shot in the lagoon to the right. Water, sunrise, sunset, nature.. all inspirational to me and always a challenge to capture special moments in time to treasure for future inspiration.

Inspiring grand entrance. Coats of arms on the sides of the pews (installed 1960,s and 1970's) represent families who donated money to the church and also other Anglican cathedrals from other parts of Australia and the world.

I am always inspired by these guys, they are a sight to see and always the star of the show. You can meet a pilot on the last page. I love the sound of the aircraft and the skill of the pilots.

The Blue Ridge Mountains from Shenandoah National Park in Virginia

This is the Old Bridge, Mostar's most famous monument and a symbol of unity between the Bosnian Muslims and Croats (Catholics). The bridge itself was heavily damaged during the war and fell after storms in 1999. It was rebuilt in 2002 with funding from UNESCO.

i have some of the most beautiful views, right from my very own home. this is a shot of the sun coming up through the fog and trees in my backyard.

i took this photo near newaukum valley a couple of days after the devastating floods that hit southwest washington in december 2007. coming upon this scene gave me hope that not all was lost, that there was still beauty in the world, that life does go on...

i grew up a mile or so from this beach in olympic national park, washington. i spent many, many days and hours at this beach watching the tide reflect mother nature's moods. i particularly love this beach during a storm. this image was captured thanksgiving morning in 2007.

Liberty National Monument at Liberty Island

I took this picture standing on the cliffs and the South Point of Isla Mujeres, a small island off the coast of Cancun, Mexico. They are called the Cliffs of Dawn because this is the Eastern-most point of Mexico - the first place where the sun rises. Not far from where I'm standing is an ancient Mayan temple built to Ixchel, goddess of Motherhood. The combination of ancient religion and stunning views makes this the most inspirational place I have ever visited.

Lay your head down on the sand, close your eyes and listen to the surf move in and out of the shoreline. This is one of the most calming and spiritually centering sounds this earth has to offer.
