SeaWall - Stanley Park - Stanley Park is the largest city park in Canada (404 hectares - 1,000 acres). Described by one local writer as a 'thousand-acre therapeutic couch', it began as a military reserve in the mid-1800s to guard the entrance to Vancouver harbour.

This beautiful bronze statue of a prairie pioneer woman by George Lundeen stands in front of an art gallery in Lincoln Nebraska. The journey that the pioneers made to go west into the USA frontier showed courage, determination and great faith. She has a melancholy peace about her; her body is turned toward her destination, but her face is turned back to look to where she came from. I believe that the journey of life is the striving toward hope and new horizons, but not forgetting and learning from where we have been.

We were leaving the Special Olympics National Games [July 2010] after the NJ team and my daughter won many medals for New Jersey, and coming home. I have only flown 4 times in my life, so this journey to and from Nebraska was thrilling for me.

Sometimes it's just more fun to take a car...We came upon this beautiful roadway on our way from Las Vegas to the Lake Mead Recreational Center and the Valley of Fire State Park on Valley Fire Rd, Overton, NV

A beautiful place not frequented by many because of it's remote location from the road sits a 1700-foot eroded volcanic plume and sacred to the Navahos as Tse Bi dahi, or the Rock with Wings. This name comes from an ancient folk myth that tells how the rock was once a great bird that transported the ancestral people of the Navahos to their lands in what is now northwestern New Mexico.In this pic we still have about 3 miles to go to reach the volcano.

This is the view, from across the highway from the information center, of the tallest mountain in the Canadian Rockies. The trailhead for the Berg Lake Trail can be found by driving just a short distance up a secondary road that you'll find just west of the info center. The first 2 1/2 miles of the trail is along an old road, which is now used only by rangers and mountain-bikes (which are permitted on the trail as far as the Kinney Lake campground.)

This view is back towards the crest of the dune we had just walked along. Note the snow-capped mountains off in the distance. It is this type of scene that makes the state of Idaho so diverse in it's scenery. Many months of the year you can go skiing in the morning and golfing in the afternoon,all within a few miles of each other--due to varying elevations thoughout the state.

Just a few miles beyond the Currituck Beach Lighthouse is the end of the road literally. From here only 4 wheel drive vehicles can ride up the beaches and view the wild horses who abound there

North Platte, NE - Multitudes of Sandhill Cranes grace Central Nebraska's Platte Valley skies each Spring on their journey North-to-Alaska. Many 'big-bird watchers' journey to Nebraska to view this Special Event.

A tribute to the 'Pony Express' riders at the Julesburg, Colorado tourist-info / rest-area / 'p'-stop. - For 18 months in 1860 & 1861 the 'Pony Express' delivered the U.S. mail on a 1,900 mile route - St. Joseph, MO to Sacramento, Cal. - Horses were changed at 10-15 mi. & Riders were changed at 75-100 mi. - Approx. 157 stations were used.

Geo-caching is a new hobby/game of mine. Combining geo-caching and my love of photography...awesome! We are seeing incredible and beautiful areas just a short drive from my home. Don't know what geo-caching is...check it out at www.geocaching.com...and get addicted!

In January 2011 we had some massive surf in West Hawaii. I got rather wet taking these shots, but it was so worth it! I sure had to clean my lens a lot that day, maybe a new worlds lens cleaning record.

Shortly before landing in the Pacific island nation of Tonga we were treated to a memorable sunset.

And the train rolled down the tracks, back into the pages of our minds.

Columbia lake located just south of Fairmont Hot Springs on the western slope of the Canadian Rockies is where the Columbis river begins. This shot is taken several miles north of the lake.The river travels (meanders) 100 miles north before it turns south into the U.S.A. where it exits into the Pacific Ocean at the Oregon/Washington border.

Mäkrä is one of the many ancient names of glutton or carcajou (Gulo gulo). This ferocious animal was deeply awed.

A settlement and a bay named "Kamenka" (kamen', камень - stone). A typical landscape along the eastern shoreline of Primorye. You can also see dog-berry in blossom at the foreground and campfires' smoke at the background.

Every year along the beaches of the Delaware Bay, hundreds of horseshoe crabs journey from their homes beneath the sea to lay their eggs on the beach; at the same time, thousands of migrating shorebirds stop in the same place and feast on the eggs that will give them the strength they need to continue their journey around the world. This has been happening for thousands of years and I was lucky enough to witness it last year. Unforgettable!

To give you an idea of size, the ship is 40m long ( 130 ft. ) with 30m ( 100ft. ) masts.

The Transfăgărăşan (trans (over, across) + Făgăraş)climbs to 2,034 meters altitude. Built as a strategic military route, the 90 km of twists and turns run north to south across the tallest sections of the Southern Carpathians, between the highest peak in the country, Moldoveanu (2544m) and the second highest, Negoiu.

Fundata Village, Romania - surrounded by the Bucegi mountains, the village is situated at the highest point of the Rucar-Bran pass with an altitude which varies between 1300–1400 meters. It's considered one of the highest (if not the highest) settlements in Romania.

The Tail of the Dragon is 11 miles and 318 curves like these. people travel from all over the country to ride the Tail of the Dragon

Climb from the base of the falls cascade on a path that includes 604 stair steps. Rated strenuous, but great photo opps all the way as the path follows along side th cascade. The stairs continue all the way to the top.

I bought a water proof camera just for this trip. Not a bad job on the anti shake. We were bouncing and I was shooting one handed while I held the paddle with the other hand waiting for the guide to say paddle. I would then drop the camera and paddle. It was on a lanyard.

A survey team discovered a large hole in the ground while determining a route for the Canadian R.R. They cut down a large pine and placed it down the hole. They then proceeded to climb down the tree to find a laarge cave with a stream of hot water below them. This was the discovery of the mineral hot springs found in British Columbia, Canada. A mural depicting this discovery was found in a Museum in the area. Permission to photograph this mural was given to all paid admissions.

Looking on the Jordan Valley from Beit Shean. Far away in the background the Jordanian Mountains on the other side of the Valley.

In Cesarea there is a small spit of land reaching far into the sea. This place is always crowded with fisherman. These two fascinated me how they stood side by side for hours. It seemed not to bather them not to be lucky. They seemed to have the time of their life!

I love to walk early in the morning and getting out of the house when it is still dark. Walking beside the fields, hearing the birds just after they woke up. The best moments are those, walking beside a freshly plowed field; a field ready to be sown or planted. There is nothing like the smell of soil, there is nothing like walking along fields.

On our approach to Portland, Oregon's International Airport, we had to pass the mighty Volcano, Mt. Hood on the left hand side. This was last June!

I wanted to capture another view from the other side of the Reflecting Pond in front of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.

On Canon Beach, Or there is a rock that sits just off the shoreline in the Pacific Ocean that is iconic with the Oregon coastline. It is 235 ft tall.

This is in the Aviation Hall of Fame & Museum in Teterboro, NJ. Many years before, this plane took thousands on journeys great and small.

recently went to dallas to visit my parents. I always wanted to shoot Dallas skyline.

San Antonio captures the spirit of Texas. Now the ninth largest city in the United States, the city has retained its sense of history and tradition, while carefully blending in cosmopolitan progress. Close to eight million visitors a year delight in the discovery of San Antonio's charms!!
