I found the information of this in a insect book with pictures and it is a Carrion beetle which feed on yucky stuff,such as dead animals,fur,and feathers.They help prevent the spread of disease by turning waste marterials into fresh new soil that is rich in nutrients.This helps plants grow, making food for other animals.

Good guessing to all. I do not have a full view of this - this was the street I live on!!! I was shocked when I did a zoom closeup to see how beautiful it is - when looking at it normally it only looks like blacktop. Too beautiful to be walking and driving on I would say!!!!

Thanks to all who visited my mystery entries!. Some of you guessed correctly. Most interesting was Kaethi/Heinz Oertlif's comment, that there are caterpillars which can make such webs also. I took the photo early in the morning, just after the fog lifted and there were lots of webs like this shimmering in the bushes. This one intrigued me, because a golden leave was behind it.

Very Very Mysterious!

Probably a pretty obvious "macro" subject, but I liked the light and shadow and hope it's not tooooo apparent, that is, if it is indeed a macro at all and not a close up. But this seems to be the closest my little camera can get. As the photography bug continues to munch away at me, any suggestions regarding upgrading cameras are welcome!!!

Perhaps a slightly more obscure "macro" shot!! I hope!! LOL

I had another "mystery macro" all ready to upload ... much more appropriate to the challenge ... but it was awfully blah ... so I went for the less curious, more interesting one!! Actually the "what" of this one is kind of odd ... so ... oh well ... hope you enjoy!!!

As fall sets in, these spiders are all over the place. Not a scrub to be found without their webs in them. This fellow was one of the largest I came across - I had to think of Jay when I saw it, so I figured it would be fun to publish it :-)

The most reliable component of the Dutch transport system.... After all, you don't get stuck in traffic on one of these and you're not dependent on whether the railway company decides to ride on time.
