Chihuli's glasswork had been displayed in the Atlanta Botanical Garden in fall 2004, but a few statues had been left there after the display. One of them was made to resemble a water fountain and is displayed as a part of one, as can be seen in a few other pictures in this album. But wat I liked most was that the glass was reflective, showing my a reflection of myself & the surrounding area (including a part of the statue itself) within a part of the statue.

While many people associate such rays with sunrise, this is actually a sunset. :)

Tiger Swallowtails. Photo taken at Wildwood Lake outside Harrisburg, PA. Had to be patient for this shot. There were several butterflies on the butterfly bush so I just sat and watched. Usually, when one butterfly lands on the same flower as another one, one of them fly off. But the second butterfly slowly walked along the flower and I waited until the one with its back to us had turned to be perfectly in line with the other one. It was over in a couple of seconds as the first one then flew off.

I am taking a photo of the glass wall on the roof of Azrieli ceter, Tel Aviv. You can see me, the city, and part of Azrieli buildings as they are reflected by the wall.

I am in the front of the boat, taking a picture of the reflection of the boat and the ice pieces in the water.

You can see some of the old building of Nahalat Binyamun Street in Tel Aviv, and the photographer through the mirror, that is decorated with jewelry for sale.

I wanted to get this sign in a bar window at Old Orchard Beach and was concentrating so much in making sure I did not get in the picture,that I did not realize that the guy with no shirt had entered the picture!

While no specific image was reflected in the back side of this mirror on a classic Mustang, the swirl of colors caught my eye. I can pick out parts of the sky, the ground, and I guess the color of the surrounding cars. I also like the colors picked up in the center part of the mirror as well.

This is not the most attractive of ducks but it sure is a very friendly one with gorgeous blue eyes. You can see it is gently disturbing the very still blue water in the pond and it stretches forward. I was adding images to this 'Focus on eyes' album and thought this an almost artistic shot, simple colour and detail. Best viewed full screen.

This is a picture of my niece, Sara. I used a macro lens to focus on the eye and got a little more as a bonus. She was watching cartoons and I happened to catch the reflection from the television in her eye. I used photoshop in order to make the photograph black and white, but I left her beautiful blue eye color. Enjoy.

It was amazing to see the leaves scattered in the road here in Florida.. I saw the reflection in the mirror as I was driving and had to steady the camera, drive the car, and then some how push the button to take the picture.. LOL..

The photograph -me!- (I am also visible in the "topic" moment, while I'm taking the photo) has captured this "square" in Suhl, Thuringia, Germany. You can like the reflections mirrored on the glasses, whose owner is moreover the nice girlfriend of a WS member!!!!

The Reichstag in Berlin is a real mine of mirrored reflections due to the wonderful creation of the english architect Sir Norman Foster; he gave in the year 1999 to the old building a new dome made by thousands of small and big mirrors. The countless reflections and the gorgeous games of light -especially at sunset- make Reichstag one of the most loved, visited and photographed public buildings in whole Berlin!

Photo taken in a wonderful sunny day in August 2008 in Budapest. This building reflects on the glass façade of a bank at Vorosmarty ter ("ter" means square), creating a good game of lights and shadows.

After a rushed exploration of Many Glacier, a hurried trip across the bottom to West Glacier area, then a two hour horse tour, a speedy trip northward to Bowman Lake, I found myself sitting in a chair on the lakeshore set up awaiting sundown. This is one of several shots I took during that lengthy stay.

The absolute first and best shot I got on the whole trip. I actually took three sets of bracketed photos of this scene, and it was really hard to pick only one to upload. It is one of the best HDR photos I have created to this point in my opinion.

These young flamingoes which were photographed on the salt marshes near the Gulf of Cagliari in Sardenia Italy have not yet acquired the bright coloring of the older, pink flamingoes. I particularly liked this photoraph as the resting flamingoes seem to mimic the stumps protruding out of the water.

This pumping station and it's 19th century counterpart behind me are taking care of what the windmills used to do: get the water out! Nice to know: The pumping station you see has a capacity of 150.000 liters / minute (about 40.000 gallons / minute)

Hmm, this herd seems to be on its way to join Santa. But somehow they got stuck in the zoo in Overloon. But heck, at least their enclosure looks like home. Only thing I thought peculiar: they're right next to the cheetahs. Must be stressful...

We went to the "Kasteeltuinen" (castle gardens) in Arcen. While Nature was still in hiding in most places, the indoor Kooi-carp pool was well populated - ans thanks to the glass windows on its sides we had some nice underwater glimpses (without getting wet for a change!). I quite liked the effect my strobe gave me here - so I figured I'd share this with you guys.

Okay this is not right according to the challenge guidelines; but for fun only. I was delighted to see me in this mirror just before going home after a very long walk all around Tel-Aviv. I felt just like the car on the sign under the mirror and laughed about this all the way while the bus took me home.

This Christmas decoration set in front of an etched mirror shows many shades of gold and white. Even the marbles in the cut glass vase show up in the mirror's reflection.

With mirrors behind it and below it, this light house is also reflected in a cut glass vase. The light in the base changes colors as the whole scene revolves making this a fascinating little piece to watch.

View of le Moulin de Nancray, in the tiny hamlet of Nancray (Cher), from across its small lake, during a pre-breakfast walk at the end of May. It includes a converted 18th-century mill, miller's home, and barn, as well as gardens and lake (or large pond), in the middle of the rolling hills, fields, and woodland of the Pays Fort de Berry, in central France.

The "Maison Carree" -- the Roman temple in Nimes (Gard, Languedoc, in southern France) -- reflected from the windows of the modern Carre d'Art, on an overcast morning in early June. The Roman temple was built during the reign of Augustus Caesar, ca. 20-15 B.C. The Carre d'Art was designed by the British architect Sir Norman Foster to echo and reflect the classical architecture of the temple; dedicated in 1993, it houses a museum of contemporary art and a public library. People sit on the modern steps and reflect on the temple, as well. With many thanks to our dear friend Genevieve (gene30210) for her superb hospitality in showing us her beautiful Nimes!

This is located in Mt Hood National Forest 3200 ft elevation. Formation details: Below the layered silt turned to soft stone called siltstone was a gravel layer containing water under pressure.The earth cracked and shifted along a line known as a fault. The water was forced up the crack at this point, resulting in an artesian spring. The lake was formed by the force of the artesian spring, which washed away the soft siltstone. Dept is about 45 ft.
