Polar Bear wakes up in the soft snow' near Churchill Manitoba

Polar bears get dangerously close to humans in the Churchill, Manitoba area. If a bear gets into town, he is being put in "Bear Jail". Once in a while, the bears are being transfers, while they are sedated, and transferd via helicopters back into the wild. Read about it in my "Flying Polar Bears" album

It was 25 degrees this new years week, but I hardly noticed as I enjoyed the beauty that surrounded me. I started out to capture a sunrise, but found everything to be beautiful. Of all places, this is behind a Walmart in a field that was a mountain top leveled for more stores. Progress???

There are several houses in the valley below my house. They wake up in a fog a lot. My house is on a ridge top overlooking the river valley below. There are distant mountain tops out there somewhere.

Taken very early in the morning, the light gives the photo a beautiful contrast & its golden color.

I've always loved early morning fog - it always gives the morning light a special hue.

The combination of the early dawn light on this cloudy day & a polerizing filter gave these rock formation their purplish coloring...

Seeing this precious baby smiling at me in the morning brings a thrill to my heart and a smile to my face.

When I gaze over the Lake of the Ozarks as the approaching sun paints the water and sky in shades of bronze, gold and peach, I can't keep from smiling. God is bidding me "Good Morning". I whisper back, "Good Morning, Lord. Thank You for this day."

After I awoke to start the day, I immediately ran down to McDonald Lake to find its surface perfectly still and snapped a couple of shots.

Just a tiny bit of pink color can be seen in the first picture I took of the white sands.

We drove past motel after motel along our route, finding no vacancies for hours. Finally, so tired we could go no further, I looked for a place to pull over where we would not be disturbed. The first and only place we saw was this turn off for the Mt. Walker viewpoint. Can you imagine what a delight it was to awaken to this sight?

Every morning I look out the window to see what birds have come to the feeders. A lot of times I find the squirrels are enjoying the bird seed more than the birds. This was taken on a really foggy morning. P1230297

Morning is time for hanging the laundry at Marina Corricella, Procida (in the Bay of Naples).

Although the waves are not very large in the Gulf of Mexico, morning is still the best time to 'catch' them in Surfside, Texas.

The pumpkin flower only opens in the AM - it is shriveled up the whole rest of the day, but a big bright beautiful OPEN orange flower in the AM only. I plant pumpkin vines every year and I love these flowers - they are probably one of my favorites.

This beautiful antique teaset is in the gift shop at the Lambert Castle in Clifton/Paterson NJ. I LOVE coffee and can not start my day without it. However, there was a time during my college years when I only drank English tea with cream and sugar. Being of Scottish, Irish and British ancestry, I am sure it would make more sense for me to start each morning with a teaset like this one and some good hot Earl Grey tea!

Getting the paper each morning is the way we start our day.

These spring-blooming crocus flowers close up each night, and then reopen again each morning--for several days anyway.

Each bloom that opens in the morning-light only lasts that day. Fortunately this process goes on all summer long, so that there are lots of flowers everyday--to replace the ones that fade.

I am not a morning person, but one thing I love about the morning is the beautiful sunrise. My daughters begin school at 7:20am which means we are up early. My youngest daughter often misses the bus, so I do enjoy the drive into the school seeing the sunrise. I took this photo one morning in December on the drive home from a mountain in our township.

We were bass fishing early at Lake Casitas early in the morning. Sunrise looked so pretty I had to take a shot.
