One is never too old to climb a tree ...

An entertainment place for children. It is quite old, it was there in the 1960s. Nowadays it is home to a bowling alley and various other amusements. McDonalds' are of course everywhere in the world...

Like many things, only part of the sign works- as long as the ATM itself works, though! LOL

This sign has hung over the streets of Fredericton for several generations. When a by-law was passed a few years ago prohibiting signs from hanging over the streets this sign was allowed to remain because of its historical significance.

How about a LOT of neon?

Insanity-The Ride consists of an arm that extends out 64 feet over the edge of the Tower and will spin passengers at up to three 'G's.' As the ride spins faster and faster, the riders are propelled up to an angle of 70 degrees. Riders will experience the thrill (?) of being flung over the edge of the Tower and literally facing downward at the City of Las Vegas below.

Landmark theatre on E. Houston St. The f stop here is 7.1 Apertures that were wider let in too much light even at very short exposure times to the point where you could not read the sign. This is another example of a narrower aperture being better that a wider one. You have more control over the amount of light you are letting in.

This motel has been in business since the 1940s - it is located along Highway 99, what once was the main north-south highway from Canada to Mexico on the West Coast.

Hamley & Company, located at 30 S.E. Court in downtown Pendleton, Oregon, has been in the business of custom saddle crafting since 1883. This is the neon sign for their cowboy coffee shop.

I actually shot this across town using a fast shutter speed. This is a Dallas icon only recently recreated.

It took a few tries to get this, my favorite all time photo. Lights powered by a/c current are not on all the time, your eyes don't notice, but the camera does. Look closely.

The onlookers held pretty steady during this photo, but they didn't know I was taking the picture.

This is a neon sign that no longer lights up, but still fits in and shines bright on the wall behind our bar

I started with an my original Neon "Open" sign set up against a dark sky. After capturing it, I enhanced the picture with Bubbles reflecting the neon sign. I have a feeling that the future will see neon as history and replaced by all the digital controlled light signs.
