This green frog is my sister's pet. He's been living in her pond for several years and doesn't seem to mind posing for his photo shoot.

This little guy comes to my door for nuts, climbs on us and eats out of hands. He's wild but very tame ~ our precious little pet.

He's definitely a climber and an all around troublemaker. LOL

Seeing this picture is difficult. My heart is broken. My poor old man got out of the house Monday night and never returned. I tagged this photo for the pet portrait challenge a few days before. To lose him this way after 19 years has left me a wreck. I've had him since I was 17 years old. I'm still praying he'll return but, at his age, that seems unlikely. I'm asking all the cat lovers out there to say a little prayer for him. Thank you.

Our Black Labrador Lady. We got Lady a week before Christmas 2006, she was a present to us all to take the kids minds of the major operation that I'd just had, my daughter Eleanor thought that I may die and the whole family were very concerned for my health. Lady was the ideal tonic for what could have been a very flat Christmas.

Having got Lady for the kids she very quickly became attached to me recovering at home for nearly three months, and the kids believe that I taught her to snore just like me.

Lady now comes out on many of our outings to take pictures and loves to get in the sea and rivers, she is a great companion. See, "walking the dog" and "our Dog Lady" albums

This is one of the first photos I took when my new Olympus C5050 arrived by mail in 2003. I was trying out its macro setting. The shot won a "Best in Show" at a photo contest later that year.

He was far more amused by the box than the window perch. I took it down eventually, because he refused to use it.

Just for fun since it's a vertical shot! Cavaliers are usually allowed to be kept pretty natural when groomed. In other words, the fur on their paws is usually kept long, their ears are usually very long, and their fur usually hangs down a couple of inches from their body. We prefer this puppy cut. When I had the roof off my car, Monty would get really hot, especially at the traffic lights. I would take my cap off and put it on his head. Then I found a nice denim one for him. It had a velcro strap under the chin and holes for his spaniel ears. Mont would drive along, with his paws on the passenger window and smile at everyone. He made people laugh!

Monty found this bone at Elly and Malcolm's property, near Stroud (NSW). It was as long as he was.

This is Be Be. She is a little over a year old, and is no where near as big as she will get. Maine coons are known to get close to 30 lbs or more...they just get very tall and big, not fat big ..Be Be weighs around 16 lbs now. She is absolutely gorgeous ..SHe is owned by my brother and his wife, and is very spoiled! She is sooooo sweet and a very smart cat!

Gentle JOSH has been with me since he was only 5 weeks old(now 10yrs)the runt from a litter of 8 and rescued from the home of a drunk that was going to shoot him!His Mother-white German Shepherd - he is part German Shepherd -Husky and has some Chow bloodline.He is an over grown love bug that still thinks he's a puppy - all 85lbs.of him!

This little kitten of mine was killed by accident on Tuesday, May 13th 2008. Somehow, he had gotten up into the radiator of my car. He was a CRAZY KITTEN always bouncing off of the walls....always playing around. When I got into my car Tuesday afternoon, I had no idea it was under the hood. I actually had no idea till it started smelling really bad the next day. It just so happens that I was taking Kitten shots on Monday evening and captured this one of him...NOT KNOWING it would be one of the last shots I'll ever have the pleasure of taking. I had given away his brothers and sisters to a nice young lady who works at EZ's where we love to go out to eat. I kept this one and the Runt. Please say a prayer for crazy kitty.

Woodstock, our slightly oversized miniature dachsund, LOVES obedience training. I'm putting him through his paces while a friend captured this shot. He is flying over the absolute lowest setting on the high jump. He's a very little dog with a very big personality. He's known as "the Rock Star".

Woodstock is a silver dapple miniature dachshund. His coloring is considered to uneven for show, but it gives him such a great soulful look. It's all a sham, he's trying to get a game going.

My backyard cat turns into a Siberian Tiger!

Captain came to us last summer. My ex husband and his mother had him in a hamster cage shoved under a dresser. When I heard they wanted to find a home for him - I quick snatched him up so he would have a better and more loving home. He has a huge cage with three floors and lots of love and care now. He loves chasing our cats around the house on his leash.

No, I'm just dead tired!

Five years ago I found this beautiful kitten in the middle of the street. He was about 5 weeks old then. The first night I adopted him he was so tiny and frightened. I lay on the kitchen floor next to him by the basket I had fixed for him and stayed there all night with my arm and hand next to him for comfort. His love for me is so clear - he knows I rescued him and how much I love him.

Now just over 5 months old and looking the quite the diva !!

Sitting on our front porch. Callie is a four year old lab mix. We got her from a lab rescue group and she has enhanced our lives for three years now. ~ IMG_0017

Callie is supposed to be the family dog, but for some reason she seems to like me the best. She follows me all around the house which annoys the rest of my family. It makes me chuckle because I can walk around in circles or back and forth through the house and she follows me like a shadow. After a while she gets wise to my scheme and stops. The downside is that I almost trip over or back my chair into her when she lies down as close to me as she can possibly get. ~ IMG_0019a

Kanji was born at my Grandma's house and raised by her mother with an old hen as a nanny haha. She had several siblings but I chose her and I am so glad I did. She is the sweetest most affectionate and funny kitty. I call her my furry secretary because she answers the telephone when we aren't home. I just need to teach her to take messages. Haha!

Koda was born in the shed in my back yard. His mother was killed around the time he was just starting to be weaned. Left alone, he was wild and would not come near us. It took a long time and a lot of love and affection but he finally started to trust me and is now a part of our home. Such a sweet and mischievous boy.

September? 1997 to 16 October 2004. We lost Mama (her real name was Roxy) after a long battle with IBD. She was the sweetest, most loving girl, and blessed us with Baby (Ambrose). She is sorely missed.

Sweet Casper passed away 02-06-07 at the age of 14. He will be terribly missed.

Known in our house as The BAD Boy. Boo is a rather cranky older cat, who hates to be bothered by anyone. He growls at any new person who comes in the house unless he feels he likes you. He hates it when we add a new cat into our home. Most times you will find Boo either next to me or laying on me. I don't own Boo, he owns me, and lets everyone know it.

Known in our home as The Pretty Boy. Joey is a loving, gentle, sweet natured cat. Instead of walking he prances. He used to think he was Simba from Lion King. His gentle nature can become fierce in protecting our new kitten Lily when our oldest cat Boo is an a bad mood. If Boo is in attack mode, Joey comes over and just sits, or lays down in between Boo and our kitten Lily.

Patch came to me as a sick kitten and I nursed her back to health. She is a very loving cat and loves to be petted.

Roadie was found as a kitten out back at the restaurant I was managing. I rescued him the night before Hurricane Charley smashed into Central Florida reaking havoc in August of 2004. A Roadie was a thick cut of sirloin that was placed on a bed of seasoned onions sizzling on a hot black oven skillet. Hence his name....

For those of us who have no human children, we get the next best things... pets..

These two beautiful Newfoundlands are brothers. Title is an excerpt from a tribute to the Memory of Boatswain, a Dog, by Lord George Gordon Byron, "Epitaph to a Dog." ~ The breed originated in Newfoundland from dogs indigenous to the island. There is some speculation they may be partly descended from the big black bear dogs introduced by the Vikings in 1001 A.D.[3] However it is more likely that their size results from the introduction of large mastiffs, brought to the island by generations of Portuguese fishermen. By the time colonization was permitted in 1610, the distinct physical characteristics and mental attributes had been established in the breed for all time. In the early 1880s fishermen from Ireland and England traveled to the Grand Banks of Newfoundland where there were two main types of working dog: one more heavily built, large with a longish coat, whereas the other was lighter in build, an active, smooth-coated water dog. The heavier one was the Newfoundland and the other was the St. John's dog, the forerunner of the Labrador Retriever. The dogs were used in similar ways to pull fishnets and heavy equipment. They have deep barks, sweet temperaments, are highly intelligent, easy to train and are known as guardians, watchdogs and are good with children.

Mollie wanted to catch this bird but I was there to stop her. It is written all over her face but she knew better than to go for it. Ms Mollie Motormouth was also adopted by me when she came to my house with a bb gun hole in her side. She only weighed about 3 lbs and now she is a fat sassy 4 yr. old.

Sadly, I do not have a picture of him. He was a real sweet and good cat. Midnight was a kitten, when someone dumped her. I found her in August of 2002 and adopted her. This picture was taken in my Mother's bathroom.

Mai-Zel Zahir: I've had him since I was 8 years old, he is a purebred Arabian, he is 30 in this picture (born in 1978), and still doing great. Chigger (RIP) had to meet God this year due to cancer in her elbow. She was about 6 years old. Zahir along with all my animals means the world to me, and I would never be where I am without my old man.
