This statue is named "Joy" and is found in the Northland Children's Fountain Park in North Kansas City, MO. The fountain and park celebrate childhood in its many forms. Look for other images in my album, "Children's Fountain.

Jim Bishop built this fire and smoke breathing dragon from discarded stainless steel warming trays from a local hospital. A hot air balloon element creates the fire while a wood burning fireplace creates the smoke. See other shots of the Castle in my album, "Bishop Castle".

This outlandish contraption is a part of Bishop Castle and is reached only by climbing skywalks and wrought iron stairways. The daredevils who reach it can try to set it spinning while inside. Check out my album, "Bishop Castle".

This beautiful Elk statue can be seen from Route 80 - it stands proudly on the tip of a mountain that is part of the Laurel Grove Cemetery. We had just hiked to a high point overlooking the valley far below. As Sara was photographing, I saw a chance to silhouette her against the sun.

A cabin fire I spotted early one morning. It was a couple miles acrss to another ridge. I grabed my camera and headed out in search of it. This photo made almost the entire front page of the newspaper.

Using a light behind the salt rock, I placed the scorpion on the rocks and shot in the dark to get the silhouette..

A beautiful sunrise in Texas with the geese swimming in Gibbons Lake near Paris TX at the Gimball Goose Refuge.

The Turnaround at Seaside, Oregon, is designed as the official end of the Lewis and Clark Trail. In 1990, a bronze statue of Meriwether Lewis, William Clark and Seaman, was installed facing the ocean at the west end of Broadway at the Turnaround on the center of the Prom. The monument commemorates the 18 month, 4,000 journey from Saint Louis to the Oregon Coast ( by sculptor Stanley Wanlass).

A fishing boat heading out to sea in the late day sun off Martha's Vineyard. A truly time honored battle between man and nature.

this was taken along Spaniard Creek the sun was low and the back ground is calm water, which led to a nice silhouette.

I loved the feel of this shot, from downtown Muskogee Ok it appears to be on the skyline castle of Scotland at least that is where my mind goes when I look at it.

As the sunset over Lake Michigan, I guess I stand on the shore of Lake Huron to snap this beautiful bridge that connects the lower pennisula with the upper pennisula a span of 5 miles.

Catching a perfect sunset at Newcastle Port. There's no better way to do it, than sitting on the pier.

On a walk around Adelaide I found this Cenotaph. The appealing nature of the people to the Angel overhead made for a good photo.

This monument was just being built when I was there last. The sunset and smog made for an interesting colourful backdrop.

The "Sentiero dell'Amore" is a walking path that connects the two little villages of Rio Maggiore and Manarola in the 5 Terre national Park. The trail is very dramatic and romantic, that's why it has been given this name. Many couples came here to swear their love, enriching the path of love graffiti and padlocks, whose keys are thrown in the sea, as to state their love will live forever.

I started the day by guiding a vidiographer out to film birds of the refuge. He particularly wanted film of our snow geese. He got them plus the greater white-fronted geese and lots of other birds.
