Light is the fastest thing in the universe. Its speed is approximately 300,000km/s and it takes only 8 minutes for the sunlight to travel to Earth. It is believed that if we were able to travel faster than light, we would also be able to travel in time. (A little piece of dust on the lens created a sharp focal effect on this photo.)

I liked the idea of using the sun behind this streetlight to give it a very bright glare. I was a bit disappointed that the sun turned out to be just off center, but I liked it enough to post it nevertheless.

This was taken in SW Florida. In the spring of 2007 a fire in South Georgia caused smoke to cover the sun over 300 miles away in Lee county Florida. For several days the sky and color of everything outside was strange.

Capturing the sun from my mind sometimes has catostrophic results - here we see a sun as it explodes ending its life.

The last leaf catches the last rays of the sun.

This one is vertical so it doesn't count and it doesn't quite fit in the category too. But it does include the sun, twice, in the sky and captured in the reflection in the water. So I am putting it in the challenge.
