This photo was taken on vacation in Florida at Ponce Inlet . They had the most odd trees with branches everywhere.

My grand daughters, This was taken at a local amusement park called Lake Winnie. This was the first time they had ever been to a big amusement park and they had a great time.

I am thankful for all the beautiful scenes that God gives us everyday, but my favorite is the sunsets.

Thankful for digital photography and all the beautiful subjects there are to photograph. Through digital photography, I have found a hobby I thoroughly enjoy. I love looking for new objects to photograph and never get tired of it. I love being able to express myself on webshots, and share my photographs. Of course I am also thankful to webshots. Penelope is very thankful to digital photography and webshots. Otherwise she would be collecting dust on the dresser in the bedroom, by herself, sad and alone...Penelope is also thankful for all of her new friends, whom without, she might have been put back on the dresser...Penelope wants to say thank you for all of the kind words you have shared with her in her turmoils of the past challenges...

We adopted our remarkable young lady as a newborn. She is now almost 25, graduated from university summa cum laude in 2004 and later stood first in her Education class. She teaches French and is also working on a Master's in counseling. With KC, at 18 she won a national championship for the NS Appaloosa Youth team. But beyond her accomplishments, she is a warm and humble individual with a great sense of humor and zest for living. I'll be forever thankful for this great gift and grateful to the woman who made it all possible - Natalia's birthmom. They eventually reunited and during her latest graduation, both mothers sat side by side with tears in our eyes. We've become good friends - and Natalia now has a young half-brother whom she had never expected to meet!

Please view full size!! With each new day, I silently give thanks that I'm alive and able to participate in whatever lies ahead. First light through trees at dawn, mist rising from water, the awakening murmur of birdsong - all are precious to me.

All creatures are worthy of attention but I'm especially drawn to these smallest ones, that live so bravely and die so quietly, having fulfilled their brief purposes. I give thanks daily for their presence and their unique beauty. This butterfly is hardly exotic or rare, but it's typical of those I see around my garden. Its familiarity means a great deal. Rexula is a stray can my grandmother is feeding. While she may complain how spoiled Rexula is (and often needs to be reminded who made her this spoiled ;-)), I'm sure she is very attached to Rexula & enjoyes her company, which is something I am very thankful for. And don't be fooled with the inteligent look on her face - Rexula gives blondes a very bad reputation...

Visiting the National Parks in the South Western US was always one of my big dreams. I was lucky enough to be able to visit most of them in September 2004. I was also lucky to do this as a part of an organized tour in which the drivers knew what the best time was to visit each site, as evident by this early dawn picture of Dead Horse Point. I've also been lucky to discover mant beatiful spots closer to home here in Israel, some of which you can also enjoy in this ablum.

One of the most important lessons I've learned through photography is that beauty is often found in the simplest objects, than may appear very plain & ordinary at a first glance. I've also learned that you often don't need any fancy or expensive equipment to enjoy it - this photo is one of a few photos in this album which was taken with a simple lens on a simple camera (and no, this is not a Macro shot!)

Well, I was mightily thankful for this apple tea, after walking for hours in a Turkish town of Bursa. When I found this small establishment, and asked for directions to a place where I was going, I was immediately invited for a tea. It is just their custom and I have found it very refreshing. Not only the tea. :-)

I was thankful actually for the crowd near Barcelona's mighty sight, the coloured big fountain, because it gave me the opportunity to take photos of less popular, but still marvelous sights. Like this small side-fountain there. I found the sight beautiful, and I think it comes across the photo as well.

The first painting I ever bought. It's not exactly modern art, and in 50 years it won't be worth any more than I paid for it, but so many people, beside myself, enjoy this one.

This weekend I went to my nephew's wedding in Christchurch. My daughters, Catherine and Bridget went with us. "In all the land there were no women so beautiful as Job's daughters..." (Job 42:15) I think I might give old Job a pretty fair run for his money.

The Royal Albatross has its only mainland nesting site near my city, Dunedin. It has iconic value for those of us who live here, signifying the unique qualities of our part of the world. We ring the church bells every year when the first birds return, and watch as the young are hatched, fledge and fly off. The sight of an adult silently gliding overhead takes the breath away.

This is quite typical of the geography of this part of the world. Farms and untouched forest jostle for space.

The clouds is one of my favorites places because up there somewhere is heaven, home of the most high God. I am thankful for Jehovah God, He is the creater and maker of all things. He made us with the fives senses we enjoy each and every day. With the sense of sight, I can see each one of your pictures and enjoy you as my special friends. Your friend Linda

I'm thankful for the holy bible. This is Gods word and instrucions on how we should live our lives. The Bible gives us a set of moral standards to live by. It tells us what Gods will and purpose is for us as humans. It gives us direction for the future. This is my very favorite book.

I'm thankful for Little Miss. She is so full of life and love that she reminds me every day of the goodness around me.

Abbey came to stay with us a little over a year ago. She has become an important part of the family, and in her zest for life reminds us of the joy around us.

They clean our air, provide shelter for small animals, birds and insects, shade from the sun, their leaves nurture the earth and lastly they give us wood for many different uses. Truly a gift of nature.

I am thankful for clean running water. A luxury that we so often take for granted.

I'm thankful for the ability and freedom to be creative. It's not something people reflect on very often but it is one of the things I'm most thankful to be blessed with.

Nan (left), Boppa (in blue) drove from Chicago. Grandma (middle), Grandpa (bot. right) flew from North Carolina. In their 80's it's not only amazing that they are more functional than many younger folk but that they were able to travel to Indiana to see their oldest grand daughter graduate.

My dad bought the family ponchos at a theme park when it started pouring. He handed them out and the last one turned out to be a kid's size. He wore it anyway instead of making one of us wear it and made the most of it. He called it a Kazancho- it was so small he couldn't breathe out of his mouth without it vibrating like a kazoo against the pancho- hence the new term was born.

What great fun! Even the snowmen are smiling. I'm so thankful that our grandchildren are happy, safe, well fed, and healthy.

I'm thankful for my 94 (soon to be 95 in January) mother who still helps us deadhead our thousands of lilies. She is amazing.

Mai-Zel Zahir: I've had him since I was 8 years old, he is a purebred Arabian, he is 30 in this picture (born in 1978), and still doing great. Chigger (RIP) had to meet God this year due to cancer in her elbow. She was about 6 years old. Zahir along with all my animals means the world to me, and I would never be where I am without my old man.

When students graduate from High School in Sweden, their parents make signs so that each student can find his or her way through the crowd to find their family. The photo used on Marcus' sign was taken by me the day before his first birthday, and I've always loved it. It took him a few years but he finally learned to turn the book the right way around ;-) I'm so grateful that I got to make him this sign.

Joke and Cathy, I am so thankful for the great friendship and love I share with my sister Joke, the long walks and photoshoots we made together. Also thankful for Cathy, it was the dog from my parents and since they both passed away, Cathy lives with me, a great and thankful feeling to give Cathy the hugs and love she needs.

I am so thankful for the great childtime I have, Thankfull for the lucky moments I have in this house, where I was born. We have a great characteristic house, near the church. Other people live here now. It is a warm familyhouse, full with sweet memories. I left home to go living by myself when I was 19 years old. More than 20 years ago.

I have chosen this picture because Salar de Uyuni salt desert is a No. 1 in my Top Ten Places list! Also I have to add that thanks to this trip I have discovered my interest in photography!

After our daughter, Christina Nichole's recovery from her coma, declared brain death, and thriving outcome, we traveled for a year, living in our camper trailer in thankful celebration of life. Here Christina is enjoying the holidays at the ocean in Western WA. She now raises Pekingese and ShihTzu show dogs and creates print art on the computer with me as we appreciate each and every day. Christina lost 20 years of memory, and has daily short-term memory loss and associated problems so our goal is to make every moment special, happy, and worthy of memories, even if they disappear quickly. We live life for the moment and know that memories are fleeting, so true joy is appreciating them at the time they happen. Many blessings to all this holiday season! Judy (Christina's Mom)

The photo above is of Christina Nichole, on Sept. 1, 2004, the day after her release from the Rehabilitation Hospital following her coma and declared brain death recovery. We revisited the Neuro ICU unit at the hospital where the doctors meet with her parents (my husband and I) to request that we sign papers to allow them to euthanize her and harvest her organs. Clearly she is not brain dead and her doctor's diagnosis / prognosis were either 100% incorrect or she experienced a miraculous type of event that no one has explained to date. The chairs that Christina stand next to are the same chairs my husband and I sat in for two hours listening to doctors explain her brain death, with NIL chance of recovery. What a victorious photo this is!! This is one of those life altering times that will forever bring thankful praise to our lips and hearts to God for our countless blessings. Judy (Christina's Mom)

I am thankful everyday, so Thanksgiving is wonderful but not required as a reason to remember thankfulness. When I first praise God each morning I automatically top my list with the still unexplained, if not miraculous, survival and recovery of my beloved daughter, Christina Nichole. On July 15, 2004 she went into a sudden coma with a one-time onset of hypoglycemia (minus 10 blood sugar level). We rushed her to the hospital and they flew her to a larger hospital, where she was declared brain dead. We were asked to sign papers, agreeing to allow them to remove her life support equipment. We chose to believe God, knowing that He is in control, regardless of what we may see or hear. We prayed for a miracle and left her in His good hands. On the 10th day of her coma she slightly squeezed the Neurologist's finger, letting him know she was still in the body they were asking to kill and harvest for organ donations. On the 3rd week she was showing enough signs of life that the Rehabilitation Hospital transferred her to their Neuro unit and began their work to teach her to breath, swallow, eat, talk, move, walk, read... all over again. There are no words for the thankfulness we feel everyday that she survived. Her doctors said she had NIL chance of recovery, and yet she not only recovered... she thrived. Thank you, God. Spunky has been with us for over 17 years and THANKFUL doesn't even begin to express how blessed we truly feel!He goes everywhere we do!Spunky has walked the beaches of Nova Scotia,hiked the Green Mts of Vermont, swam in the Atlantic Ocean,and even climbed Mt Washington.We may not go on cruises or eat in restaurants when we travel,but a sandwich on the road shared with Spunky is the BEST!

Of the many things I have to be thankful for,Spunky's companionship for the past 17 years tops the list!

I am thankful for my horse, Chance. I am amazed every day by the relationship we have formed. I am his safe place. I was blown away just a few days ago when I realized how deep his trust in me really goes. He was terrified and trembling because of something flapping in the wind. All it took from me was a touch on the shoulder, and he relaxed instantly.

This photo emobodies many things that I am thankful for... I'm thankful for the changing seasons, the changing weather patterns, and the things that stand firm in the face of change. Things like God, my family, and this mountain peak which, for me, represents home.

This is an old photo of my mother and my daughter when she was 3. I am thankful for my family, especially my mother who is now 80. When growing up she allowed opportunities to try out musical instruments, arts and crafts, her interest in nature and history, animals, conservation etc. She gave me alot of who I am today. I am thankful for my three daughters - I was a DES baby and never supposed to have children, yet God blessed me with three daughters. My middle daughter Shivonne is in this photo - she is 17 now. As a perky little toddler she was a handful & taught me alot in the trials she put me through and sure taught me patience. My mother, father, my sisters, and my daughters - I am thankful for them.

This photo represents many things I am thankful for. It is a photo of the Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove NJ. I am first & foremost thankful to Jesus Christ my Savior and my God. I am nothing without Him. I am thankful for this country where we have freedom of religion and we can worship Him as we wish. In this Great Auditorium services are held each Sunday, and it also holds concerts of great Christian artists. I am thankful for the wealth of fantastic & uplifting Christian music that is available today - it helps me quite often get through my days. you will see in the bottom corner the top of a red tent for STAR 99.1 Radio station which plays Christian music here in the NYC area - and I am thankful for them and their constant encouragement.

This is a shot of Shannon [my oldest daughter who is now 22 and is autistic] when she was 5 years old. She loved and still loves the ocean - I love this photo because it shows her unbridled joy and exuberance over the waves and the water. I am thankful for the magnificant sea and ocean - the sounds, the waves, the smell, the beauty and vastness. And I am thankful for my daughter's excitement and joy which is so over the top for those things she loves. She has helped me see the world through her eyes - to taste, feel, hear and experience things to the fullest. Thank you God for my dear daughter Shannon, and thank you Shannon, for being my child.

Here is my westie Naya...I bet she was thankful to us and the vets when she got hit by a car recently. We all took a good care od her. She is covering up now and she will be fine. She had a broken pelvis and a hard operation. And I am thankful that she survived the accident. On this picture she was three months old.

this is a photo my mom took of me bowling last year at the special olympics state competition. I am thankful for my mom. I did well in Special Olympics, but when I wanted to try out for the regular high school bowling team, my case manager and teachers told me not to. My mom said go for it. I went last week and this week to try out and found out Tuesday I made the regular high school bowling team. I am thankful because my mom lets me try and helps me to do more all the time. i am taking a regular art class and working in the main office and library because she pushed for me to get it in spite of what the case manager said. I am so glad she believes in me. I am very lucky. She encourages me in my photography and helped me to post my photos here on Webshots. I am thankful for her.

I'm grateful for where I live. We dreamed about an acreage in the woods for years, and the dream finally came true. Thanksgiving morning I went out to share the bounty with our wild turkeys.

Our beloved Mr. Chip has had a rough month. I'm so happy he's on the mend and very grateful we could afford the surgery he needed to correct his problems. I am thankful for wildlife and beautiful scenery! The Canada Geese are on their way south. When I saw this group first, they were resting and feeding in the meadow by the pond. As soon as I stopped the car, they got up and went in the pond with a lot ado: "Honk, honk, honk ..." Their nickname is "Honkers".

Looking over the pond with golden leaves, reflecting trees and sky, knowing God is nigh! Giving thanks!!
