You know why it makes me smile? Because this picture was taken on December 27, and look at the great weather on the beach in Tel Aviv.

Gene made this 30-40 years ago. I keep trying to get him to make me some more sculptures, but he never seems to find the time. It is made from an old rake wheel with big washers welded to it, a hog waterer for the body, again with washers welded for feathers, and r rod (?) for legs and feet.

This is a zoom on a pink 57 Chevy that is sticking out of the top of a carnival type ride on the Steel Pier in Atlantic City. It just seems funny and out of place - I know it is a carnival ride and the lights and graphics are usually bright and different on those, but I just did not expect a full size car to be sticking out of the top of the ride as well, especially since the ride did not have cars in it... LOL

When I shot these two pawprints the sun was rising behind my left shoulder. I had to turn them upside-down to make them look like impressions in the snow rather than relief.

The Incom T-65 X-wing starfighter was a symbol of the Rebellion's starfighter corps in Star Wars Movie IV A New Hope. This of course was actually the FIRST Star Wars movie to be created and seen by us. In the end of that movie, Darth Vadar is in an X-wing fighter and having been shot by Luke, spirals out into space. I wonder if he landed here in this person's back yard, as you can see this X-fighter has Darth in the driver's seat! LOL - how would you like one of these in your backyard?

Star Destroyers are capital ships in the fictional Star Wars universe, yet this person has one in their front yard. The Christmas lights dangling from it as well as the USA flag stuck on the side make it all the more comical to me.

This ginormous silk cotton tree sits at the bottom of Mystic Mountain in Ochos Rios, Jamaica. The roots are approximately 4 ft high. Just happend to come across it on our way out of an excursion. What a breath-taking find!

This was shot during a stadium tour at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, TX the week before Super Bowl XLV. Just one of many whimsical facts provided to fans the following week. Guess they needed another WOW factor at JerryWorld.

West of Sioux Falls, I ran across these beach chairs in a farm yard buried in snow - not a beach nor body of water anywhere close by.

Our grandson, Scotty thought he could eat his pop tart like his dog, Dakota.

It was 28 below zero in Downtown Sioux Falls, South Dakota with a wind-chill of between 35 - 40 below zero and this guy was wearing a windbreaker and shorts.

Butterflies bring delight everywhere they go, a beautiful sight caught in flight.

The snow is a perfect background for photography! I paused and held the colorful bouquet over the snow to take this as I walked in my Nan's front yard. The snow makes everything so bright! I love the whimsical accents within the floral wrapping which create an elegant background over the snow!

A creek in KY where old cars are used to prevent the creek banks from eroding. Even a nice sized tree has grown through one car.

Kentucky's phrase is Unbridled Spirit. This man was parked where it was obviously marked No Parking. This seemed to show the unbridled spirit theme.

to get the whole impression of those hanging strawberry fields in the Negev Desert I had to hold the camera rather high to get the field from below and get the tasty impression of all those tousands of strawberries at the bottom of the picture. The strawberry season in Israel is about to begin right now!

Pine Processionary (Thaumetopoea pityocampa) The larva is a major forest pest. They are marching out at night in a row one after the other; marching in single file (hence the common name).The larvae should never be handled. The abundant hairs on their bodies cause extreme irritation to the skin. When the host tree is stripped, they crawl in search of new planet - eh . . . I mean a new tree.

I love how you see the cracks on the bridle, really showing his age! It's always amazing to see the quality and care that went into toys of yesteryear.

One small step for man... This entry pays homage to the 40th anniversary of the Apollo Moon Landings- a delicious and sweet gingerbread and frosting spaceship! Everything else you see is edible as well. Yum! I love how people "play" with their food! LOL
