An early December morning from behind Trocadero

This was finished in HDR using Photomatix and 3 images. I was shooting towards the sun and straight photos left the sky white or the flowers in deep shadow. HDR saved the day from only bad photos.Sometimes HDR is necessary in order to get a picture. This was the case here. If I have missed thanking you for congrats, consider this a thank you.

This almost-fluorescent house certainly brightens up the Maine winter landscape. Seen on Route 1 near Rockport Maine.

The warmth of yellow candlelight is reflected in the warm soapy bath water and on the tiles, a lovely sight.

The early morning sunlight reflects from the water in many golden shades, from the sky and the small marina dock, a glorious sight.

Came from a root cutting from Idaho many years ago. It has survived in a dry, sunny area of the yard here in Wisconsin. These roses are often found at abandoned homesteads in various parts of the West.

Dolichovespula arenaria - It is sometimes a challenge to get these wasps to stay still long enough to get frontal shots like this.

A French classic

Designed by the Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser, built 2005 in the Gruga Park Essen, Germany. The House belongs to the McDonald's Help for Children Foundation (McDonald’s Kinderhilfe Stiftung) and is a temporary home for the families of severely ill children who are nursed in the nearby university clinic.

I Took this photo using Kodachrome 64 slide film over 25 years ago off of Le Flore road in La Habra Heights Southern California. This night I only took a couple pictures, 3 at most, supposing the evening was a waste of time. I had to wait until I received my slides from development to see this, one of my favorites over the years. Hope you enjoy it.

This is a Tasmanian wildflower. Leptorhynchos squamatus - is a common perennial herbaceous daisy with soitary yellow flower heads (approx 3cm diam) on wiry stems to 20cm high. Flower heads are button-shaped, composed of numerous yellow tubular florets

3/10/10 - Snow Geese at Sunrise - Middle Creek Wildlife Reserve, PA

While driving in the country, this grasshopper decided to hitch a ride. I looked over my left shoulder & it was sitting on the window frame of my pickup. He rode there for quite some time. I just aimed my camera as best I could without spooking it & this was the result.

This was taken in a car park of a burger outlet in VA. I've removed the colour form around the Viper as well as blurring the background to give the feeling of movement. Finally the frame has been set to give the feeling of the car coming towards the viewer.

Unlike many other species, the Swallowtail draws nectar with it's wings in the open position--thus enabling me to take all these wonderful shots.

These agave blooms were taken this spring in my neighborhood in Tucson.

Due to all the rain we had this year in Tucson, my prickly pear cactus went nuts blooming.

This is a street entrance to La Placita Village. Located downtown Tucson, it is a collection of office buildings and restaurants. Each building is painted in bright, southwestern colors.

Mehndi is traditional yet exciting pre wedding ceremony. A lot of emphasis is given on customs and rituals. Mehendi ceremony has been prevalent since ages and forms such an integral part of the wedding ceremony that it cannot be imagined without it. Furthermore, Mehandi is one of the sixteen adornments of the bride and her beauty is incomplete without it. Mehndi ceremony usually takes place just before marriage. According to the ritual, the bride does not step out of the house after this ceremony. Mehndi ceremony is essentially organized by the family of the bride and is usually a private affair which takes place in the presence of friends, relatives and family members. However, the scale of the ceremony depends upon individual choice. Some people celebrate it with great pomp and show. Sometimes, the Mehndi ceremony resembles another sangeet ceremony. During the ceremony, turmeric paste is applied on bride's face, feet and hands. After this, the Mehndi application begins. For applying Mehndi to the bride, a skilled Mehndi expert is called who applies Mehndi on bride's hands, arms, feet and legs. Traditionally, the Mehndi applied to the bride was obtained by drying the leaves of the Henna plant. According to popular belief, the darker the color of the Mehndi, the more her husband will love her. As a tradition, the bride is not allowed to work in her marital house till the time her Mehndi does not fade away. This ceremony is primarily a women function, which takes place amidst musical beats of Dholak, with women singing traditional songs for a prosperous marital life of the bride.
