Holland Michigan is located in the Southwest part of the state on the shores of Lake Michigan. The Holland Harbor with it's "Big Red" lighthouse and adjacent beach are very scenic and have special meaning for me, since I grew up there.

There used to be a railway station nearby....this is where the pub got it's name. The station has long since gone...but one very elderly regular at the pub...(he is more than 90 years old)..had a very interesting story to tell....

We went to Ravello in summer 2006 but just for the day (my profile photo was taken there). We loved it so much we came back in 2007 and stayed 4 days. It is a fabulous hill town with breathtaking views of the Amalfi Coast. A definite splurge.
