Where traditional New Orleans Jazz is played Thursday through Saturday nights. It's pretty awesome. The building was built in something like 1750 and is largely unchanged inside from the way it was then. I came in on Friday night and heard all three sets. Surprise! The drummer was Joe Lastie, who'd played at Maison Bourbon the night before. I got a chance to talk with him a little, and mentioned that he seemed to be having more fun playing here than he had the night before at the Maison, and he said "Oh, yeah, this is my regular gig here." It's his band that plays many Friday nights: Joe Lastie and the Lil Jazz Band. I had a great time listening to this group. It had been a dream of mine to get to Preservation Hall since I was a kid, so this was a dream come true for me.
