We collected aluminum cans, sold old newspapers, distributed handbills, cleared a vacant lot, held a yard sale and more --- all to buy our first Troop canoe. Another was donated, and we eventually had a fleet of four canoes.

One of our favorite hiking/camping spots in the Pisgah Nat'l Forest sat at the top of winding dirt road on Table Rock Mtn. between the rock chimneys and the hogback. A steep trail down the backside leads into the Linville Gorge and a great "swimming hole.
