picture: William Pryor Letchworth and Thomas McTayvey - At the Glen Iris Inn - Letchworth State Park
published by: Ghost_Hunter1
This photograph was taken at the Glen Iris Inn a few years ago. It is another photo in which the ectoplasmic orb is clearly visible, something that occurs quite frequently in photos of Spirits at Letchworth State Park. The Glen Iris Inn is literally swarming with spirit manifestations, and why not? It was William Letchworths home for many years and before that it was a tavern. People came and went all the time and it was and still is one of the most beautiful locations for a home one could think of, overlooking the Middle Falls. Upon close inspection, the photo clearly shows 2 figures standing in the driveway, an older gentleman to the left in the photo and a younger one next to him. The older man has his left arm around the shoulders of the younger and they appear to be holding hands, the old gents right in the young gents left. While it was quite common for men to be more demostrative with each other 100 or more years ago (unlike today when non-Gay men are sometimes threatened to get too close another man for fear of someone making an incorrect assumption!) there are rumors that William Pryor Letchworth was Gay. He was a confirmed bachelor, never marrying and was a most caring humanitarian and philanthropist. He was very generous with his money especially when it came to children, of which he had none. His very special friend, Thomas McTayvey was very close to Mr. Letchworth in has later years, and the two were often seen strolling together along the Genesee River enjoying the beautiful sights just as millions of visitors do today. But of course, times being what they were, any overt affection between the two men could not have taken place in public view as it can in these somewhat more modern times. It is thought by many Parapsychologists that at last the two can stroll, arm in arm about the beautiful estate, uncaring what the world may think. Their apparations have been caught on film and sometimes seen with the naked eye inside the Glen Iris as well, ascending stair cases, sitting in the drawing room and on occasion, appearing in what are now some of the guest rooms. Just fleeting glimpses, but nonetheless, most times the unmistakeable forms of two gentlemen, at long last, hand in hand or arm in arm. As in most cases, no visible sign of the two men or the ectoplasmic orb were seen when taking this photo. The diners at the Glen Iris and myself were totally unaware of any manifestation taking place at that time. This was the sixth of eight photos taken at that time and the only one to show any manifestation whatsoever.
picture: Orbs in a Rainbow at Lower Falls - Letchworth State Park
published by: Ghost_Hunter1
This photo was shot at the Lower Falls in Letchworth State Park. There are about two dozen orbs within the colors of the rainbow, surrounded by an ectoplasmic nebulosity. These ectoplasmic formations are unusually common in and around the park. When this photo was shot, a few of the very brightest but smallest orbs could be seen with the naked eye. The rest of them plus the nebulosity appeared only in the photo. The Orb concentration is about three quarters up the rainbow. View it in "Full Size" to see detail. Letchworth State Park is one of the most haunted of Natural places in Western New York State, perhaps the entire Northeastern USA. The Humans that emmigrated to this region thousands of years ago recognized this space as a Spirit filled wonder and so treated it as such. Later immigrints in the 18th and 19th centuries destroyed much of the natural beauty and resources of the area for profit and personal use. If it was not for William Pryor Letchworth who saw the region as one of great beauty and something to be preserved, to be restored to as near as possible to what it once was, the region would be nothing like it is at this time. Spirits abound here, have always abounded here long before humans ever set foot here and viewed these natural wonders. New Spirits find a welcome and comfortable home here, able to roam free, unemcumbered by the worry that progress will destroy their beautiful environs, a worry that the living as well need not worry about. Ghosts still walk in Letchworth State Park, not just in the "Ghost Towns" in the valley, but just about anywhere the natural occuring features create energy vortexes condusive to Spiritual Apparitions. And why not? Places so loved in life would be the perfect place to reside after death. William Pryor Letchworth himself still resides at the Glen Iris Inn. He is frequently seen in and around his famous old homestead, sometimes at his grave in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Buffalo, NY.
