This album shows a year in the life of my three tree ferns, Dicksonia antartica. In winter, I put a little fleece into the top of the trunk to protect the new croziers from frost. I leave the fronds all through winter and remove them in early spring.

Fantastic form!! The Giant Bird of Paradise is breathtaking! Leaf scars are formed on the trunk when the leaves fall off, this gives the trunk a rough texture. The flowers are creamy white with brilliant blue tongues and reddish-brown bract about 18 inche
