A banner inspired by designs in the Bayeux tapestry. This is worked in linen- a French woad blue herringbone fabric and a weld yellow twill. All construction is done by hand.

The body is a match to Fench woad blue in herringbone linen. The border is a match for weld yellow in tabby linen. A paper pattern for the finished size was made, then cut into the component pieces of body, vertical edge, horizontal edge, and curved bottom. Seam allowances were added when cutting. The top and side will be as tubes to mount the banner on the pole set up. The bottom curve is in front and a back pieces and will be closed together during sewing.
