These photos were taken in a deep canyon located off the Southern Oregon Coast where heavy rain and mosture from the Pacific combine to create an ideal environment for growing moss and ferns, and for finding waterfalls!

The lamp in the Yaquina Head Lighthouse's 93 foot tower was lighted in 1873. It has the tallest tower of all of the Oregon Lighthouses and sits 162 feet above the Pacific. The lens is a first order fresnel that is now lighted with a 1,000 watt bulb.

I was up early hoping to photograph a sunrise at Battle Rock, but there were too few clouds to reflect the morning sun. Yet, it was low tide and there was lots of beauty to behold!

Fog. A regular visitor on the southern Oregon coast. While usually seen as a foe, it also often creates mystic, moody, and unique scenes, especially when it is only Partly Foggy. Breaks in a fog bank can cause the light to dance across the land and sea.
