On Remembrance Sunday walkers of all faiths and none meet at the Great Gable summit war memorial to hear a short address and observe two minutes silence to remember those killed and injured in war. Some of the OFC members attend each year.

Two weeks with not a drop of rain, but sadly very heavy haze in the second week which cut down the views. AW said "all who truly love Lakeland are exiles when away from it" and I'd rather be in a hazy Lake District than a clear anywhere else!

There are 214 Wainwright fells. Jill Rowland had 23 left to climb, this walk in windy conditions over High Tove and Armboth Fell reduced the number to 21. We also included a diversion to the excellent viewpoint of Fisher Crag perched above Thirlmere.
