Solo dayhiked to Thousand Island Lake on the River Trail from Agnew Meadows. Returned on the John Muir Trail passing Emerald, Rudy, Garnet, and Shadow Lakes for a total of 17.6 miles.

As we continued our journey we would come upon our first big Pass. Donahue at over 11,000' high. But Island Pass would prove to be very tough. The scenery was some of my favorite. And we were getting closer to JDSmilings exit point of Reds Meadow.
