It is time to begin a new album, since the old year has ended and the landscape is changing again. I'll include whatever snow scenes I can get, although they're not as frequent as some might imagine. I also tend to prefer artistry rather than exotica, so

I live in a Maritime Province, so the sea is a familiar element. Here are photos of some of the craft I've observed in my local area. I do have more to be added!

In July '07, I traveled from Yarmouth to Halifax, then on to visit family and friends in the New Glasgow and Truro areas. This is a record of the wonderful scenery I enjoyed for almost two weeks. I've added later shots from other locations as well.

I've made collecting trips to several sites this year and want to share my finds with you. Please see my "Fossil Trail" album for an overview of these locations. I will add more as I discover them. This is my second fossil album.

Located in Digby County on the "neck" leading to Long and Briar Islands, this seaside village is a haven to both summer residents and locals. The small cove is like a fjord - narrow and deep. There's also a second beach on the Fundy side.

This starts off with very early autumn, so the effects are muted on the first few pages. Almost all of these were taken near my home. I have a later album as well, so please feel free to visit.

These shots were taken mostly at Lake Ellenwood Provincial Park or along the Perry Road near the village of Carleton, southwest Nova Scotia. They are the "last hurrah" of our woodland glory - now waning in some areas. Best viewed fullsize.

Wandering through the natural world, I'm often amazed at the complexity and subtle beauty of the tiniest things - a single leaf, a fungus, a bit of moss, a stone.
published by faranya100
All scenes are local, within Nova Scotia, and most are taken form my own yard. The emphasis is on sky rather than earth. My home overlooks a river to the east so most shots are sunrises.
published by faranya100
Most of these shots will explore light and textural elements, often with the same subject from slightly different angles. Full size viewing is recommended.
