Nearly perfect sample of petrified wood. Grain is raised, and not filled, termite holes are not filled or eroded away. Knot hole exposed and hollow. Found near the Salton Sea, CA. Not far from Anza Borrego Desert State Park.

Found near Amboy CA. November 16, 2002 34� 35.132'N 115� 31.046'W . To see a closer view, use Webshots "Full Size" feature on the upper right hand side of this page. .To see where this is, copy (highlight) these GPS coordinates . Go to Google Earth, and find the word SEARCH in the upper left hand corner. Under it will be 3 tabs. Click on the "Fly To" tab, and paste the coordinates in the little window. When this is accomplished, Click on the little magnifying glass to the right of the little window, and the screen should take you to this location. You can see it closer, by Zooming down.
