Lee's Landing is in the middle of nowhere but offers a lot of stark beauty. I enjoyed meeting the Navajo people who have wonderful crafts, at such reasonable prices. If you want great turquoise jewelry buy from them.

We were hoping for April spring flowers but, nothing much yet. Barker Dam was a real treat tho, and well worth the easy 1 mile hike to reach it, but watch for the snakes, they are out now, more than the flowers.

The Carrizo Plain is west of Bakersfield Ca. and has a wide spance of areas full of wildflowers, birds in abundance and pronghorn deer. Altho sparce in flowers this year because of our lack of rainfall, still the beauty is there.
