Extreme snowshoeing in the Mount St. Helens wilderness. Extreme snowshoeing is a hot new trend. The pictures just don't capture the magnitude of the jumps, but they are still fun :)

Went for a solo (i.e. no Burt) snowshoeing adventure in Powerline Pass. Broke trail most of the way (I love wintertime!), and ended up hiking down into the valley and about 2/3 of the way up the mountain across the valley. Great fun!

Decided to break in my new snowshoes with a nice long hike in Portage Valley with Burt. We both had a blast! It was an entirely new experience for both of us. What an adventure!

Went back to Powerline Pass, this time with Erica and Burt. We went up a different side of Little O'Malley (as I'm told "that big mountain over there" is called), which ended up being so steep that we couldn't safely get to the top, and could b

This is actually an album of two separate trips. Burt and I went to Eagle River to snowshoe... but there wasn't much snow. Then it snowed over Easter, so we went to Upper Huffman trailhead, and there was PLENTY of snow.

Today Burt and I headed out on the longest trip we've done yet-- 12 miles roundtrip! We headed deep into Powerline Valley; our goal was to make it to The Wedge. We made it there, and it was awesome! Fantastic weather, fantastic scenery!

So my brother came up to visit for Christmas, and I decided that he needed to experience all that Alaskans experience in the winter. So we went snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and downhill skiing!

Snow Nymph, ASandyGal, Skier, and WLD met at the McGee Creek Trailhead. A Spring Storm was forecasted, which we hoped would arrive, and would not be to severe.
