Found this Sulphur-crested Cockatoo up in the top of a huge gum tree. It was constantly swapping branches with its mate around the hollow where it must have been nesting. They are often found in large flocks and forage on the ground for seed, grain, roots and nuts while one will stay on look out in the large tree tops. They are extremely wary and raise their sulphur-yellow crest when alarmed or angry.

Sulphur-crested Cockatoo I was behind some bushes and I don't think this bird realised I was there until after it landed. There had been a few here earlier eating something on this young tree and I thought I would wait for a little while. I was ready in the right place at the right time for a change. It didn't stay very long at all.
