God & Mother Nature never cease to amaze me, forever painting the sky for our viewing pleasure. Because we live in the "Valley of the Sun" in Arizona, I appreciate the gift of their awesome displays tenfold, as the majority of our days are sunny and cloud

In the summer, while storms brew above, the setting sun through the clouds, winds, rain and heat create fantastic colors.

picture: The Colours of Her Music
published by: ourjrny
Po'olenalena Beach, Kanaloa (Kaho'olawe Island) and Molokini sunset on the horizon, Maui, Hawai'i ~ "Her earliest thought was music. Not the memory of music, of hearing the sound of an instrument, or a voice singing. She thought in sounds and in colours. Her mind sang to itself, notes like light falling through a prism or a waterfall. There was a waterfall near the place where she hatched. It was the first thing she saw when she unfolded her limbs, free at last from the tight confines of the shell. She lay on the warm, grassy ground, her breath coming in short, exhausted stabs. Her eyes opened slowly, one after the other (she had three altogether, but she did not yet know that this made her unusual), and her mind began to sing for the first time, in delight. It sang like the hum and sparkle of water in sunlight. Like the boom of a mountain. Like the chimes of a rainbow in the sky. She had no words. She thought in sounds and in colours..... " ~ Poetry by Imogen Rhia Herrad, a freelance writer and journalist based in London and Berlin.
picture: Moonlight Lady
published by: ourjrny
Composite image of Ma'alaea Maui Hawai'i ~~ Kohala ~ Mare Tranquillitatis ~ The Sea of Tranquility is on the Moon. It’s not a real sea, but a “maria,” one of the regions on the Moon that appear dark when looking at it. The surface speed record on the Moon is 10.56 miles per hour. It was set in an Apollo lunar rover. The volume of the Earth's moon is the same as the volume of the Pacific Ocean. If the moon were placed on the surface of the mainland United States, it would extend from San Francisco to Cleveland. Easter is the first Sunday after the first Saturday after the first full moon after the equinox ~ Moon Trivia
