There are so many Canada Geese here. In winter Osoyoos Lake freezes and there is just a small area of open water. The geese come in each evening. It's a sight to see.

(01236) 8-31-2007 Common Merganser standing (she was posing "HER" way for my camera) on a log in the Kenai River, Alaska. A large diving duck, the male is mostly white with a black back and green head, the female is gray with a rusty-red head and white throat. They dive underwater to pursue their prey, they eat aquatic vertebrates, small frogs, newts and small fish.
