The Carrizo Plain is west of Bakersfield Ca. and has a wide spance of areas full of wildflowers, birds in abundance and pronghorn deer. Altho sparce in flowers this year because of our lack of rainfall, still the beauty is there.

We drove into the Grand Staircase Nat'l Monument from Boulder, then drove about 10 miles on the Burr Trail. We then turned onto a dirt road leading to the Wolverine Petrified Wood Natural Area.
