picture: THE TIMID HEIR "Leroy"
published by: cmhqhrs
this is one great guy! he has shown successfully at AQHA shows as a hunter. he was the first quarter horse to ever show in combine driving, preliminary level, and win (by a great margin i must add). i was told a quarter horse couldn't be competitive in combine driving, and would never make the long and grueling haul a prelim cross country course offers. well, this fellow not only did the cross country course, but he won it by such a great margin it put us 10 points ahead of the next closest competitor. it just goes to show that fitting a horse into a certain job is of utmost importance, and a giant heart doesn't hurt either. never be afraid to think "out of the box". people think quarter horses can only do short distances at speed, Leroy has proven that is not always true.
unfortunately, in 2003, Leroy lost the fight after an 8 month struggle trying to recover from a tragic veterinarian mistake. he will always be the greatest love of my life. Leroy, you will always be remembered and never forgotten, you GREAT LAD!
