A nice tour in the swiss alps. We rode over france (Alsace)into switzerland to the Graubuenden part of it. There are the higthest mountains. And roads!! Back home we took our way throug the Black torrest in Germany. All the fotos are scans from slides.

Death Valley - Piper Comanche N7304P Crash Site 3/11/06

This plane crashed in Death Valley on 12/23/95. The flight started at Nervino, California and was destined for Lake Havasu City, Arizona. The pilot planed to stop at Furnace Creek to drop off a Xmas tree, he never made it crashing into the mountains.

Mount McDill - Howard DGA-15-P 5/19/06

On 4/6/51 this Howard DGA-15-P #NC67765 crashed on Mount McDill's south slope in the Sierra Pelona Mountains near Palmdale, Ca. Four people died in this weather related accident.

The Bishop Convair 340/440 Flight 802 6/3/06

On 3/13/74 Sierra Pacific Airlines Flight 802 crashed into the White Mountains at 6,100' level just minutes after taking off from the Bishop Airport. All 32 passengers and the 4 flight crew members were killed in this accident.

This C-46 Commando #41-12363 crashed on 6/5/44 on a north facing slope near Pleasant View Ridge. A C-119 Flying Boxcar #53-3195 crashed 600 feet above on the same slope on 9/30/66.

Mount Baldy Hellcats 7/21/06

On 3/2/49 two USMC Grumman F6F-5 Hellcats crashed into the south slope of Mount Baldy at the 9,400' and 9,100' levels in snowstorm. Both pilots were killed in this formation accident.

Mount Baldy C-46A Commando 8/5/06 & 8/19/06

This Curtiss C-46A #41-5190 crashed on 10/5/45 hitting the peak of West Baldy. Some of the wreckage is located on the south slope of the mountain, but most is scattered down the steep north slope. Weather was a factor in this accident.
