From working in the fields to collecting salt from the sea and working on crafts for selling. I enjoyed being there to witness these wonderful people at work.
The people of Cambodia are so interesting and friendly. We met many on this trip and loved them all. Thank you, Cambodia, for such a wonderful memory.
We loved meeting and visiting with the people of Cambodia. They were all so friendly and seemed to enjoy us as much as we enjoyed them.

Phnom Penh is the capital and largest city of Cambodia. In the 1920s it was known as the "Pearl of Asia", but during the time of the Khmer Rouge (1975—1979), it became famous for its nearby Killing Fields, where 2 to 3 million people were slaughtered.
published by john_glines
The temples of Angkor, built by the Khmer kings between 802 and 1220, are unrivaled in architectural greatness. They are one of the wonders of the world, their quantity overwhelming, their power and grandeur truly astounding.

Ta Prohm
published by john_glines
"The general appearance of the wonder of the temple is beautiful and romantic as well as impressive and grand...Perhaps it is the most impressive sight in the world of edifices."
published by john_glines
"Angkor Thom [Great City] is undeniably an expression of the highest genius. It is not an architectural miracle. It is in reality the world of the gods springing up from the heart of ancient Cambodia."
published by john_glines
Also known as "The Jungle Temple," Ta Prohm has been left untouched except for the clearing of a path for visitors and structural strengthening to stave off further deterioration. "It is investigated with delight and left with regret."
published by john_glines
Siem Reap means "Siam defeated", for it was here that the army of the Khmer Empire defeated the army of the Thai kingdom of Auytthaya in the 17th Century. The town is now most known for being the closest place to the ruins of the temples of Angkor.

Built as a monastery and university in the late 12th and early 13th centuries Ta Prohm, unlike most of the other Angkorian temples, has been left in much the same condition in which it was found: partially reclaimed by the jungle.
