This world has many beautiful places. The beauty is perceived by the eye that beholds it.. There are few eyes that would not be held "spellbound" by the rugged, even scary visage on the face of many areas in the "Grand Staircase".. The Escalante Canyons can be seen from many angles and each one holds it's own facination for the viewer.. Colours change with the passing of the day as the sun's light changes the shapes and shadows on milleniums of carving by wind and water. This is an area that will become more popular as time goes by and it may be hard to drive the road on a fabulous April day as we did on this trip, without seeing another vehicle for miles and miles.. My heart beats just a little faster every time I approach the canyons and the hogsback....
